Need full capabilities of Planner in Teams
Right now you can add a new tab for Planner in Teams. However, you are not afforded all the capabilities of Planner in this tab. Its really "Planner Lite." Here are some items you cannot do with Planner in Teams:
1) If you create a Planner in Teams, it will not be shown in Planner itself!
2) you can go to the group (in web outlook) wich is automatically created for the team and click there on planner and it will take you to the planner for the new group, which then cannot be displayed at teams, but the team was the purpose for the group in the first place?!
3) You cannot import a previous Planner into teams; you must recreate manually
4) Planner tasks do not sync from Planner to Teams
5) You can't get reminders for your Planner tasks in Teams
6) You can't choose different views (charts, etc.) of Planners when in Teams
7) You can't group by Progress of Planner items when in Teams
8) No view of Planner Hub
Please integrate Planner in Teams better and integrate Teams in Planner better!!
The last item in the original list, #5, is covered in https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17017147-notification-for-planner-tasks. That one (planner task notifications) is currently in internal testing with a target for release in early Q2.
Because there are many different requests in the comments which makes it hard to update and track status of individual items, we are marking this completed, and will user individual UserVoice items to track any further Planner integration. tip, logic convinced me that this should work so I spent more than an hour trying to figure out what I could be doing wrong :(
Yes please, this is essential. The other components are linked (SharePoint libraries, OneNote etc.), it really needs to be the same for Planner.

Teams is missing the Planner Hub completely. It woudl be great to have a link to Planner on the left hand side bar. From there, you would link into the Planner hub to get all of the charts and graphs currently available in Planner, but displayed within Teams.

You also can't attach files or links. It's like the Teams version of Planner is Planner Lite. Except Planner is already a pretty light app, I don't want it to be lighter.

Adding items in Planner should result in a reminder and task in your Task-list. Now "nobody" knows they have gotten a task... - it's not notified.
It would be very useful to have reminders for the tasks we had in planner through Teams

There is no optional view for Planner tasks in Microsoft Teams. Would at least like to Group by members and status.

I fully agree - Microsoft launch apps that are disconnected in the beginning and it would help adoption agility if someone took a few minutes to actually bring Planner and Teams together. We are confusing our teams. I can create planner boards on both sides and they are not in sync. Please vote for this functionality to get in soon. Microsoft are finally becoming the partner that we always wanted and they now get it... just make sure your echo system speaks with one another.
Agree with all the above, this needs to be implemented so it can be used intuitively. Switching between Teams and Planner web app needs to be seamless.
Hello, short-term it is essential that TEAMS PLANNER be synchronized! It is a matter of common sense, it does not fear be otherwise ...
A team of project managers with integration of Planner makes sense, but the Planner Add assignment drop-down only shows team members. Tasks cannot be assigned to resources that are not members of the team.
Not all project resources need to be team members, so the resource name can either be tacked on the task title or added to Description with the 'show on card' box checked.
Any better suggestions?
Completely agree with all the comments above. I'm amazed that this hasn't been implemented from the start. Come on MS, this is pretty weak.
Yes the integration with Planner seems to be half backed. Definitly hope Microsoft will realize it (don't know they didn't so far) and make the transition between the different apps (Teams, Planner etc.) seamless. Otherwise you can't shake the feeling that your data is lost somewhere in between and this certainly doesn't feel good!

I cannot find a way to integrate my existing plans into the Team app.
I see a means to add a new tab that creates a new Plan, but I would like to be able to link existing ones.

When I add a new task in the General channel, I can't see the task when using the Planner, and vice versa. The Planner integration is very poor.
Also when I create a task from teams, I can't attach any files or links.
I wish you could fix this soon. It is only thing right now preventing us from using teams
When you create a Plan as part of a Channel, and add a task to it, you can't leave comments on those tasks. This is the case when I try to add a comment from within the Microsoft Team application as well as on the Planner site itself (when I see the tasks under my list of tasks).
I can leave comments on tasks created on other plans within planner (that aren't associated with Microsoft Teams).
The entire planner integration is baffling to me. Plans created on channels don't appear on the Planner website, and tasks created on Plans in the Teams app don't let you leave comments on the tasks.
