Need full capabilities of Planner in Teams
Right now you can add a new tab for Planner in Teams. However, you are not afforded all the capabilities of Planner in this tab. Its really "Planner Lite." Here are some items you cannot do with Planner in Teams:
1) If you create a Planner in Teams, it will not be shown in Planner itself!
2) you can go to the group (in web outlook) wich is automatically created for the team and click there on planner and it will take you to the planner for the new group, which then cannot be displayed at teams, but the team was the purpose for the group in the first place?!
3) You cannot import a previous Planner into teams; you must recreate manually
4) Planner tasks do not sync from Planner to Teams
5) You can't get reminders for your Planner tasks in Teams
6) You can't choose different views (charts, etc.) of Planners when in Teams
7) You can't group by Progress of Planner items when in Teams
8) No view of Planner Hub
Please integrate Planner in Teams better and integrate Teams in Planner better!!
The last item in the original list, #5, is covered in https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17017147-notification-for-planner-tasks. That one (planner task notifications) is currently in internal testing with a target for release in early Q2.
Because there are many different requests in the comments which makes it hard to update and track status of individual items, we are marking this completed, and will user individual UserVoice items to track any further Planner integration. If you have suggestions in the comments below that don’t have an existing UserVoice item, please feel free to create one.

In OWA, I can go to Planner and add comments to open tasks. I cannot see or modify these comments from the Planner Windows desktop app
Interesting. Did not know about these limitations. I just tried the Trello connector and having played around with this I was surprised to see what is already possible there (not all I expected, but nearly all..., some minor limitations). Given this positive experience, I am even more surprised to see, that the Integration of Planner into Teams is obviously much weaker than the Trello Integration.
It would be sufficient not to rebuilt planner functionality completely in Teams, but to get a notification of newly created and changed cards in Planneer and to get the ability to jump immediately into Planner to see the details.
+ Ability to add comments

Yes, I want to use teams and never open the planner website again. Please integrate it fully into teams - it is an essential tool that would make teams a cut above the rest.

It would be nice, if you can make Planner like Smartsheet.

Totally need this!
A Planner bot will be nice. Getting notifications of changes is useful too.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but if you create a new Team, then from that Team create a Planner (+, Planner, New), you actually get two completely unrelated Planners.
The image at the following link is a screenshot taken from Planner's "My Tasks" section. The task on the left was created and assigned through PLANNER. The Task on the right was created and assigned through TEAMS.
What DOES work when the Groups are at all visible from Teams (rarely) is adding an existing Planner to a Team. Then the Planners actually communicate back and forth because it's just one Planner that's being referenced. What DOESN'T carry over is the Files tab in an existing Planner--that will not be accessible AT ALL from Teams. Adding that existing Planner's "Files" tab is also impossible when attempting to add a SharePoint site because none of the Files/SharePoint sites created through the Planner or Office 365 Groups process are visible at all from SharePoint's administrative aspect.
I've noticed that you can't comment on 'cards' when a planner is created within Microsoft Teams. Annoying!
Time tracking for tasks or planner like a trackingtime.co
Is an incredibly valuable tool!!!
Any update? This would actually get me to consider changing my work flow.
Design Suggestion for Planner since the design is horrible at the moment.
It would be useful to have several planner attached to a single channel, instead of having a channel to each planner.

Do you have any update on this?

WORKAROUND: This is a bit absurd, but if you use the desktop app and you add a planner to a channel and then you click on the "Go to website" icon on the top right hand side, it will open the Channel's Planer on the Office 365 website... but it STILL doesn't show up in the Planner Bar on the left of the website. Its a pain, but its half way working.

There should be one central location in teams where I can view all of the tasks that haven assigned to me from every team that I am a part of. 365 already does this using the "My Tasks" and "Planner Hub" tabs.
Also, I should be able to view other peoples tasks in the same way.

I would like to have a Planner that I can associate with a specific Channel, rather than only have that Plan in the general Team Planner area.
Start by having the group icons be the same for teams, and planner
panning by clicking the mouse-down and moving it left-and-right would be nice also (think Trello)
Make possible to add commentaries flow in Team Planner as Planner in Groups.
With notification by mail when user mentionned.
