Hide the reply button under every message
The "reply" button is WAY too large under each message. I recommend either making the button just a smaller icon and off to the side of a message, or only showing it on hover.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. This item has been declined. There will be no work to hide or remove the reply button.
As many people have commented, a big ask is to help improve how people distinguish between giving a reply and starting a new message.
For that the focus will be on this item. “Better visual delineation between `Reply` and `Start a new conversation`”

The 'reply' box in the "Conversations' screen of the Teams tab is currently way too intrusive. As a result, it becomes very difficult to follow the conversation and makes it look very messy. If you could just remove the Reply box and add a small button to the same area where the 'Like' and 'Save' buttons live, it would streamline and clean-up the whole look and experience. Thank you! :)

Agreed with everyone's comments. In my opinion it should read like a book (top down). The reply allows it to get chopped up and almost unreadable. If you want to reply to just a single person, you should mention them with the @. At least make it a feature that can be toggled off and on.

The threaded conversations in general feel a little awkward - people sometimes reply as a new conversation, and sometimes on the thread.

Yeah, the Reply button takes up a crazy dumb amount of screen real estate. Even with the reply button gone, it still feels like there would be a bit too much whitespace. Things could be compacted even more, I think. On the other hand, it's definitely a better layout visually than Skype for Business has.

100% agree. This really lowers information density. Could it become something more subtle similar to the "like" button? We usually want each new event to be its own conversation anyway since replies get lost so quickly in a busy room.
