In the absence of any NEW information on this - does anyone have a definitive guide on how notifications actually work?. There is a range of different settings at various different levels but they don't seem to work consistently.
Sometimes, we get notifications sometimes not with no real obvious reason. We are on standard Windows Desktop and usint the Teams desktop application. Any guidance appreciated.

This would be extremely helpful. Basically all dev teams at my work use MS Teams for communication inside/outside their team. I really only want notifications for my team. However, I would like messages in other teams to highlight (bold) so that I'm aware there are new messages. I just don't want it to show up in the activity list.
Would be great to be able change the position of call notifications
The current Teams notification sound for iphone is extremely annoying - please give us the ability to customize the notification sound on iphone ASAP!
YES - Please add some other forms of notification (similar to SKYPE - as mentioned in this thread) need a flash or something that gets your attention. Missing way too many messages daily!!
NO TOAST NOTIFICAITIONS PLS
I would certainly want to change the notification sound for Teams, so I know it's Teams that is notifying me of something. Even better would be the feature to change notification sound for any channel.
I would like to be able to have JUST Banners or JUST notifications in the activity feed. Not both. I end up getting notifications in both and am just seeing double notifications. It's a bit frustrating when I'm trying to work quickly.

I'd like to see Teams operate more like Google Groups Forums, where every member of the Team (including guests) receive an email each time something new is added to the conversation. People are not always logged into the app at all times..
Also being able to have a chat sound EVEN if I'm already focused on that chat in Teams. I want to have a sound every single time I get a message no matter what!
Our business just implemented TEAMS chat instead of Skype for Business and already my colleagues are missing important, time sensitive, IMs because they had no idea they had received them. Notification is too quick, and there is no flashing on the tool bar.
Secondly, I'm seeing an issue where colleagues have either minimized or closed TEAMS and it shows them as either away or offline, but Skype still shows them as available.
Skype was just so much more intuitive and easier to use. Really hoping that you fix these issues soon.
The desktop app should blink (similar to Skype), have the ability to hide the message preview, and if a single person sends multiple messages, all of those messages in a single time period should come across as a single notification banner (rather than multiple banners).
Would love to be able to choose to only receive activity notifications for shifts, versus for everything, on the mobile iOS app.
Yes please. Give us options for notification settings like skype. I miss half my messaging notifications.
Silent Ring please..... I don't want to be interrupted when on a call already...
At a minimum, have a setting to turn off the preview of chat messages showing up. Overall, need more customization around chat notifications.

Please give us the same options for sound as we had in Skype for Business!
Definitely THIS. I do work editing audio - and it's really, really disruptive to have a conversation start in one of my group chats. However, there are others which are high - priority, and I'd like to have them make different sounds - My Teams window is generally shoved off in the farthest corner of my secondary monitor.
I agree with what some others have said, that it should blink in the taskbar when there are notifications like Skype
I agree about needing to control notifications other than just "off" or "on." Would really hate to have remarks from my colleagues show up while I'm presenting, but also really hate to miss chat notifications. This functionality was handled MUCH better in Skype for Business.
