allow any emoji as a reaction, not just thumbs up
Slack has this: get.slack.help/hc/en-us/articles/206870317-..

Adding any emoji as a reaction remains under review.
I am marking this as partially done to let you know a new reactions bar with Like, Heart, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Angry has begun rolling out to all users.

I cannot believe the lack of development from Microsoft here. No custom emotes, no gif emotes, few choices in reactions? These things improve team cohesiveness and communication much more than you'd think...

Would be awesome to be able to add any emoji for a reaction, similar to Slack! Thanks

I'd also like a configurable reaction emoji set. I want to be able to react to my Face-Palm chat message emoji with a face-palm reaction. It is needed.

A reaction saying "On it!" would be very helpful. Very useful when a problem is reportet and several people could take the task to look into it.

I miss Applauding people when they do something awesome, thumbs up, just doesn't cut it... or HighFiving people when we achieve something together...

We are humans and we should not be restricted to 6 reactions. Do as Slack. Allow all emojis and allow reacting with multiple emojis. And when this is done. Make it possible to make custom emojis. Have a great day 👏✌💋😎

Please just copy Slack here.

As a faith-based organization it would be great to have a prayer emoji.

Please add a question mark too in the emojis, to indicate that a message is confusing.

Has anybody in MS seen how vibrant/useful/simple and quick the emoji reactions are in companies using Slack?

Great that this is taken care of. It would indeed be very important to have also emojis for simple YES and NO, associated with an automatic count of these emojis used at a given time. That's how you can easily ask a large number of users how they feel about a specific suggestion. Check Saba Centra e.g. for a nice implementation. So, it is important that in addition to the emojis, it is easy to see how many of those.

I am curious as to why MS does not let organizations choose these themselves at tenant level, and potentially let Teams owners change for their Teams. I find the choices "sad" and "angry" very little useful in a professional setting... I miss a normal "smiley" as the laughing one may not work in certain contexts. Let us choose ourselves, please.

Its amazing how useful (and fun) it is in slack to be able to react to any message with ANY emoji.
Teams actually feels VERY limited in its ability to communicate because of this simple thing. -

"PARTIALLY DONE" for 1.5 years now. Bummer that there's been no progress since then. I like Jeff's idea to make the list configurable, too.

I need more reactions than 6. And best of all configurable!

In our team it would be extremely helpful to be able to respond with thumb down, or a ❌just to quickly voice disagreement, or to share that you read a question, but don't know the answer to it.
Having only the current 6 options is way to limited. and the current ones do not seem to make a lot of sense for team messages. Especially the angry one.
I don't mind the icons are the default 6 you see, I even don't mind if the quick menu is limited to 6 items. But it would be highly appreaciated if you'd allow me to replace items with the ones I wish to use, that make sense in the kind of company/team that I'm in. The current ones just don't cut it.

Why can I thumbs up but not down? Seems like a very purposeful choice there.

Why is it limited? I cant respond to a specific message since everything is already threaded, so at least give us the ability to "react" with more options than just 6.
