Ability to pin message/files/articles shared within a channel.
Guys, please add pinned items for channels. We often pin important articles/messages/files so that the whole team can see it. Very important!

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Not just channels, but also recurring meetings (!!!) and even group chats. We're constantly re-sharing links to our Trello boards, MS Forms surveys, and so on.

I found a workaround. But it currently only works in channels, not in 1-to-1, meeting or group chats.
Get the link to the message thread (this is the part that is only possible in channels). Add a *Wiki* tab and paste the link there. Clicking the link will take you to the thread. To make it more intuitive, name the tab Pinned or 📌.

this is really important for teachers- once a few students reply, the original instructions disappear and children/teenagers don't think to scroll up so you're constantly reposting the original information. Yes there are assignments etc. but a simple pin function would be very welcome.

Basic free chat software has this function, it really cannot be that difficult to implement the code..have an intern do it in an afternoon
