Ability to pin message/files/articles shared within a channel.
Guys, please add pinned items for channels. We often pin important articles/messages/files so that the whole team can see it. Very important!

Thank you for your feedback! We are updating this as “Partialy Done” as our first step to solving for pinned posts has been released! Pinned posts allows users from a team to pin a message for everyone in the channel to be able to easily reference. While any message can be pinnable, we expect our users to use this feature to pin information like channel guidelines or important announcements. We know this doesn’t solve all pinning scenarios, and that there is still a need to make this easier for users to find, especially within the message list. We will share another update as soon as it is available.

Yes! This is very needed and seems like it wouldn't be too complicated to add. Hope it's coming soon. I would like the Welcome/Introduction video of my Library team to stay pinned at the top so new people can see it every time they come and go.

Important messages so easily be buried in a sea of conversations in a large class. I need pinned message in the main channel page.

I appreciate Microsoft comes in for a lot of stick, i'm hoping they can see why. Coming up to 4 years to get a feature in place which should have been part of the stock release.

Alex, will this feature be available this month? This feature is critical for Chat to work in a large team.

I'm happy to see this finally being implemented. This is essential in a work from home environment with large groups. However, the title says "shared within a channel". Will this include private chats or chat groups?

This would be really nice to have, especially as college students trying to coordinate recruitment to clubs. It is extremely helpful to be able to pin a sign-in sheet or introduction conversation.

You can't be seriouse, that stupid stuff like batches, gifs and memes are implemented and such a basic thing as pinning messages in a channel overcharges Microsoft?

Do we have an update on this one, now with the pandemic and a lot of users working from home, we have many group chats in which is needed to keep certain information visible at all times.

You can see here (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=64334) that they say September 2020 for this now.

I am displeased that this went from being released back into the backlog. This can't be that hard to add and its critically important to bootstrapping new teams. Low handing fruit should continue to be developed. Is this yet another thing held up due to an overarching desired to do as little UX work as possible until you dump electron.js for react? Speaking as a Teams IT Admin who is working with far too many developers coming in from Slack land, they are simple blown away with how many small stupid easy to code UX items are simply not up to snuff. Please take time to put some UX polish on all of teams, those with the loudest voices are deeply upset at things they see as easy to add not being done, this being one of them. Still love you and the teams development group but please set aside a percentage of development for the non critical lower hanging fruit things like things.

Really key to setting up a new team and having members able to see the most important information about the group right away. Hoping this happens soon

I've made a similar post recently about this. This is such a key feature that has so many use cases! Provided below is the link to mine providing some more details on the possibilities of the feature and an example of it being used currently in a different application for some context and visual clarification on the possible look of pinned messages.

Please add this. Very important for me to be able to communicate important information with my students and to make sure that it is the first thing that they see when logging into our classroom/ team!

Please re prioritize this work-item. Teams is gaining a lot of headway in the corporate world, gaining exceptional speed from the pandemic / need to physically distance but still collaborate closely. I am currently on a working group that is making resources/information available to a large staff group and to facilitate ease of use, we really want the 'wiki' tab to appear first when users click on various channels within the Team. We realized early into the project that the conversations and files tabs would not serve the intended purpose of being a 'resource library' for the users. The wiki best organizes the information for our users, while the other two tabs will be used a LOT less frequently. I hope that this will move up on the priority list very soon.
