Ability to see who is in a channel
Ability to see who is currently in a channel. Hipchat and Slack have this feature

This feature is now released to the general public.
See details here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/show-channel-info-in-teams-61c3319d-a2c0-4b60-99b9-3226b9e248f9.

That was nearly a year ago with a "working on it" status. Do you have an ETA on when this feature will be available in Teams?

This sounds like a great feature - particularly for a distributed work group. I am currently keeping Skype open so I can see who is online and not bother people when they are busy. It would be nice to do this all in Teams.

This ability is FAR more important than having 20 live webcam feeds in a meeting.

Jabber has this feature also. VERY usefull! I'm surprised that Microsoft didn't consider it that important. Well....maybe not that surprised!

This is an essential feature. We have an application called 'Teams' and we are not able to list the members of a team? And this feature is still under construction? This feature is on top of all! I'm planning to go away from Teams, if this will not be avlbl the next weeks.

Can anyone tell us where this is on the road map? The last admin posting was July, 2019

I echo the statements in most of the other comments posted here. The ability to see member status and who is on a certain Team is crucial to increased use and adoption and better use of Teams. Add a list that can be turned on or off at the member level if some are concerned about the screen area that is consumed.

We also need the ability to have a specific list of people in a Channel (members and guests), whether they are members of the top level Team or not. @mention a Channel is really just @mention of the Team with notification opt-in. It's not really a way of getting the attention of the Channel members, because there really is not concept in Teams. This is a fundamental design flaw.

Echoing others' comments... That's really core functionality. Is there any other chat or collaboration app that doesn't do this? Not only can you not see who's currently online, but you can't even see the list of who's in a group ("channel") unless you are the channel owner? Sorry but this is absurd.

Look at the admin responses, they go back 3 full years. This won't happen anytime soon. Like many others, our office is trying to find the right software for collaboration and working remotely. This is the greatest flaw in Teams.

Why in the world was this not included in the first place. This is a pretty glaring omission and needs to be fixed years ago. Whoever thought not including this should seriously have all decision making capability taken away. There are plenty of catches/other ways to mitigate who is in the channel, and this needs to be added now. Sad that Microsoft was worried about adding emojis instead of something that almost every other online chat service offers out of the box. We're still using Swift because we need a quick glance of who is available for work assignments.

I am in pure shock and disbelief that MS has released a product that is supposed to promote collaboration/chat/online presence, that doesn't show your online presence?
How can you release a product like this without this basic functionality and ignore it for 4 years? this is the core function of an online chat program - know who is on and in what channel. Ridiculous.
