Ability to see who is currently in a channel. Hipchat and Slack have this feature

This feature is now released to the general public.
See details here: https://support.microsoft.com/office/show-channel-info-in-teams-61c3319d-a2c0-4b60-99b9-3226b9e248f9.

Looks like the feature has been added! - I now see a little icon in the top right corner next to Meet button when inside a channel. Clicking it brings up the members list. I wish it was scroll-able list but better than nothing.

Whenever someone from Microsoft is talking to you about Agile Development, send him to this amazing page. 4 years for such a basic features....
If the testing is as fast as the dev, we only have 3 more years to wait :-) -

I am hoping this request is about showing who is actively reading through the channel/ contributing at that point in time (like Slack) rather than what I have seen in some comments related to "membership". Obviously for all public channel membership is everyone who is part of the Team/O365 group so no use for that. What I think would be useful would be to add the ability to see who is ON that channel looking at it or who has subscribed/followed/ turned on channel .notifications

Wow. If that's been there this entire time I feel kind of dumb... That is pretty much what I think everyone has been asking for - I never noticed it, or knew that it was a button.
Make this available on both public and private channels. (And, clearly, make this more obvious / easy to find :)
thanks!!

Hi all,
Just trying to understand what this request is. Currently when I am in a private channel, there is a "People Pane" in the top right corner that shows me who is on the channel, their availability and the ability to start chat, etc. On a public channel there is no People Pane because it is assumed that whoever is on the Team is on the channel. I agree that it would be nice to see the same People Pane on public channels.
If it is specifically a quick access Team list, then yes that would be useful, instead of having to go into the "Manage Team" area. It would be great if when you click on the team name it would go directly to the "Manage Team" page without having to click on the ellipsis.

Team are people together, not actually what it's created as Post, Files, Wiki etc. So for me, not to first find the people behind the team in the Teams tab is strange.

It's very difficult to work in teams without the ability to see members of a channel or the team... Any updates ADMIN?

I would be happy with a list of my Team members and their status in a Tab. we would use this for lunch coverage where we can see who is taking lunch when instead of having to have a new chat session among the team every day.

WOW this is incredible. Microsoft devs are realy incapable to solve a simple request that has more than 11096 votes and is opened since 2016? LOL
@Alex do you need any help? Is it hard to solve this request? -

I can't believe this is still an open item since 2017?! Maybe talk to someone at Cisco Jabber. Come on Microsoft!

The main purpose of such softwares is to emulate in person style team interaction. I ABSOLUTELY need to know who is currently listening to the chat before I share information. Is someone important missing??? Is someone that shouldn't be there listening???
Please get this feature added quickly.
