Move a project (channel) from one team to another
We would like to move a project (channel) between groups to keep the information.
29,150 votesThis continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

Ability to archive channels
Would be nice if we had the ability to archive channels. For example: we created a channel for a specific project. Once the project is complete, we can archive that channel or at least move it out of the primary view. I could see the channel list getting large and clunky quickly with multiple projects many of which are complete.
Also, when a conversation in the channel is complete it should be archived or hidden.

Rename of Team Channel doesn't rename associated Sharepoint files Folder
When renaming a Team Channel, the associated Sharepoint folder continues with it's previous name. This could lead to confusion.
14,148 votesWe have raised the priority of this work item, and it is currently being worked on. We don’t have any dates to share at this point, but will update when we have new status. Thank you!

Move conversations to different channels
If a conversation is started in one channel but gains importance to the point where the conversation deserves its own channel. Or a conversation was started in the wrong channel and needs to be moved
10,849 votesif you have an existing post that you want to show in a different channel, you can edit the message and cross-post. This will add the top-level post to the different channel, but will not include the full set of replies. We will keep this request in mind as we evolve the cross-posting feature in the future and update if the status changes.
Details on cross posting can be found here: https://support.office.com/article/cross-post-a-channel-conversation-in-teams-9c1252a3-67ef-498e-a7c1-dd7147b3d295.

Access to email from left tab panel
If there was an Outlook tab integrated on the left, similar to the Meetings tab (which is effectively the Outlook calendar), one could stay in Teams all day and not have to switch out.
10,368 votesAdding email as a left tab panel remains under review. We are working on adding several Teams and email integrations:
- Share to Teams: Share a copy of an email and any attachments into a chat or channel directly from Outlook
- Share to Outlook: Share a copy of a channel or chat conversation via email directly from Teams
- Actionable Teams Activity Emails: Teams missed activity emails display the latest replies and allow you to reply directly from Outlook

Make public channel private
It would be nice to convert some of our already established channels to private now the feature is available in the same way it may be desired to de-classify a private channel to public at some point too.
Currently a channel privacy can only be set during creation.
7,195 votesThank you for your feedback! The team has reviewed this request and has added it to our backlog for both Standard (Public) to Private and Private to Standard (Public) channel conversion. We will share an update as soon as it’s available.

Create Planner tabs within Private Channels
We have just started using Private Channels, which is great as our team has sub teams within it and this way we can have private discussions, without creating multiple teams.
What we'd also like to do is create Planner Plans within the Private Channels that are only accessible to those within the Private Channel. Is this on the roadmap?
6,785 votesThank you for your feedback. The team has this request under review. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

Channel only members & guests
Channel only members enable collaboration with people outside the team in a specific channel, without granting them access to the team itself. The channel member could be someone in your organization, or external to your organization (guest).
6,132 votesThank you for the interest in meeting with research. All slots have been filled (in under 6 minutes).
This item remains on the backlog for now. Thanks!

Support to host a meeting in a Private Channel
Hi there, I've setup a private channel in a Team for supervisors only. I'd like to "host" the regular staff meeting in the private channel, but i can only select "public" channels. Can Microsoft add the ability to host Team meetings within a private channel?

Change which Tab is default landing page for a Team and/or Channel
Right now the conversation tab is the default landing page for a Team and/or Channel.
I want to be able to have a SharePoint site landing page in a tab and that tab be the default tab open when you navigate to a team or channel.Think of it like a landing page for that team. You may not want it to drop right into Conversations. If you can have a SharePoint page with a Microsoft Teams conversations web part, you get the best of both worlds.
I can see a lot of scenarios where you'd want the chat window…4,858 votesI apologize for not having updated this. Changing the landing page for a Team and/or Channel remains on the backlog at this time.

Read Only channel
Would like to create a Public/announcements Read Only channel so that only specified members can post. This allows for authorized personnel to make company announcements, but not everyone can post.
(The request for a Public Announcement channel is complete, since the General channel can be controlled by admins and set to read only)
4,489 votesDue to a priority shift this request has slipped to the backlog. I hate to bring bad news. I will continue to provide the feature team your feedback and votes.
Hopefully this will move back up in the queue soon.-Warren

Merge/consolidate channels
We changed the mind about the way we used some channels. We decided that some of the channels need to be merged. It would be nice to be able to do this without using history. We want history to be merged.
2,879 votesThis request is now being reviewed by the feature team! I’ll keep you posted as to the future decision.

Convert Private Channel to Public Channel
Its good that Private channels are introduced in MS Teams. Can we have a option to convert a private channel to public channel.

Mass add users to a channel or team
Please add mass add users to a channel or team.
Like we use on other Office 365 services. email@domain;email@domain and (if possible) @everyone something like that.
I'm using and loving Microsoft Teams :-)
Thanks a lot.2,398 votesThank you for your feedback and comments! The team is looking into how best to do this. We will post an update here as we have more to share.

Alphabetical sort option for Teams
Please consider including an option for viewing the teams in alphabetical order. Ideally, there should be a "Default" view which sorts all the teams in ascending order (A-Z) and an option to sort the teams based on most recent activity. Of course, this feature should also be pushed to the mobile app as well.

Custom Group Categories for Teams
As I create more and more teams, I need to be able to group or categorize them. It seems like the only native groupings are "favorites" or "more". I would like to be able to create other categories. Once I get over 30 teams, grouping them into detailed categories is going to be imperative to stay organized.
2,046 votesStill under review by the feature team. Nothing new to report at this time.

When granting access a Security group or Distribution list to a Team. Changes to the security groups/DL does not apply.
When granting access a Security group or Distribution list to a Team. Changes to the security groups/DL does not apply. If a user leaves the company or if we have new users, it is a manual process to add or remove them from a Team. Since we can select a Security group or Distribution list, changes to either should be reflected on the Team members.

Importing from Slack, Hipchat, Flowdock, Basecamp, etc.
Hi,
We are using Slack for a long time and now we are thinking to transition to MS Teams. In Slack it is possible to export all channel content's in JSON with links to files uploaded to slack.
It could be very useful to have the ability to import the slack history into MS teams.1,727 votesThank you for your continued feedback. We are currently working on this, and recently announced this feature for developers in Beta. For more information, please visit https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/blogs/importing-3rd-party-platform-messages-to-microsoft-teams-is-now-available-in-beta/.

Teams for Xbox (for office use)
We use Teams everywhere - PCs, mobile, Yealink phones, etc. We have an Xbox in our meeting room - since the Xbox is a powerhouse and can accomodate a big screen monitor, HD web cam, speakers, mics, etc., how about Teams on the Xbox? It would save us from spending another $5K on a Teams meeting room device... and how cool would it be?
