  1. Teams needs inline email expansion

When email is used to send a message to Teams, users need to download the associated .eml to read the complete message. Being able to expand and read the message inline would be much more fluid.

  2. Teams window got out the monitor limit if using multiple monitors

If Teams window is maximized on one of multiple monitors it got out the monitor limit, and you see a little part of teams window on other monitor.
    Annoying :)

  4. Sorting in Planner

I would like to be able to sort planner items outside of their buckets in Teams by various criteria (tab color, etc.). Different sort/view options should be available

  5. I wish we could schedule a video call that would start each workday at the same time

Our team has a daily stand-up at the same time each day. It'd be nice if the call were started automatically so that everyone could join - without having to start and name the call each day.

Perhaps it'd be a "recurring meeting" function.

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

    Hi Mark, we have this!

Just create a meeting in whatever channel you want this regular meeting to happen. Here’s how:

In the channel, click the little video button. In that window, you’ll see a little calendar button that says “Schedule a Meeting”. Click it.

This will open up a meeting window. Fill in the details of your meeting (name, add members, details, etc) and click the box that says “Repeat”.

    Then send the meeting.

It will add the meeting to everyone’s Outlook calendars, which will appear in both Outlook and Teams.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Sincerely,
    Suphatra

  6. Adjust video panes

Need to be able to move video panes and reorganize them on the screen. I.e. if 4 people are in a video call, two will appear in roughly square panes on one side, and another will be in an elongated pane on the left. The left pane is in portrait and we cannot see the group and if this pane were on top, it would be landscape oriented. I mean, just have an option to make it like google hangouts where I can click who to focus on or it auto-senses based on who's talking.

  7. Open Sharepoint library tab in app rather than mobile site

Thanks very much for adding all tabs!

We have SharePoint document library that we use rather than putting the files into Teams itself. Right now, this tab opens in the mobile site rather than in the OneDrive app which would be a natural place for it.

The same thing goes for Planner, which redirects to the mobile site rather than the new Planner app.

  8. When typing in Chat I'd like to be able to mark whether or not my message is urgent or not

Sometimes you want to be able to send an update which doesn't require the recipient to put down what ever they're working on and read it, other times you want to sent an urgent message.

I'd like to be able to set the priority of chat messages, maybe even with two different notification levels/icons?

  9. pdf's that have been set as tabs are not avalable on mobile devices

When I store a pdf in the files section it can be opened on my mobile device. For some reason if the same pdf is made into a tab it is not available on the mobile device. Word and Excel files that are set as tabs work fine.

  10. wiki recover

Provide a rollback or revision control capability for the wiki. We just had an accidental deletion of an entire section and there's no backup? "Undo" did not.

  11. Open files in local app by default

It would be nice if there was an option to permit opening files in the local app, instead of rendering into a web viewer automatically.

  13. Create default chat folder for doc uploaded to chat

All the bits and pieces and uploaded docs in the chat end up in files and make the directory messy. Especially if you have a nice organised file system.

Can you please make it so these end up in a default chat folder instead? This way my files won't look so cluttered.

  15. Ability to change default send from creating a new thread to replying to current thread

In any chat, I would like to be able to have all chats default to be threaded, and then break them out into new threads if needed. The current method is all chats are new threads.

Example: First message in chat creates thread, subsequent messages auto-reply to that thread. If someone wishes to start a new thread they can either change the message using the menu link on the right or press a button to start a new thread.

  16. Question

Is there a way to upload an Excel document into a team within Microsoft Teams that auto saves as the various team members add to it/edit it?

    Hi Arielle,

You can upload the excel as a file within the Team, which allows team members to edit and save directly to Teams or you can add a tab to the Team with the Excel file.

    Thank you,
    Brooke

  17. Add comments/discussion threads to documents.

A lot of work centers around documents (proposal, graphic design WIP, etc.). Give us the ability to have the conversation on/under the document. Keep those comments tied to the document/file. The document serves as a hub for a project or as a major component of a lot of work interactions. Please add this feature.

We have this! Just click the little chat box graphic on the right side of the document viewing pane (it’s right next to Edit, Close and the ellipses, on the very top right). When you click that graphic, it will slide out a right side bar, and you can start your discussion thread there. When you go back into regular channel view, you’ll see the thread nested underneath the document.

  18. Double Notification Problem

Quite often I get notified of a new message and click on the notification to read said message. If I then minimise Teams to the taskbar I frequently get a second notification in the form of the taskbar icon flashing: when I look at Teams again, there are no new messages.

It's as if the left-corner-of-the-screen notification dialog and the taskbar flashing come from two different timelines, both operating independently of the other and neither fully in sync.

  19. Minor Edit option when editing my messages

When user Edit his/her message, the only option to save the edits is by clicking on the Send button (or hit Return which my understanding runs exactly same action). Many times users would like to do minor edits which they don't want them to trigger the related notifications. A Minor Edit button or and option to Save edits without resend will be very helpful to address this common need.

  20. Office 365 Groups and Team Membership

It is possible to get into an orphaned Team state where there are no "Owners" within Teams, but adding a member to O365 group does not add that as the owner within Teams.

This makes it possible to lock yourself out of Teams if the last owner leaves the team, it is not possible to add another member.

We tested this on May 19th/20th. Removing a member from the O365 did not remove them from Teams, and an Owner on the O365 group could not see the team unless they were added from within Teams.

    When adding a member to…
