Transfer an active call in Teams from my phone to my desktop and back. This for comming back at the office or leaving the office.

  2. New Excel Co-Authoring does not work with Excel Docs in Teams

New Excel desktop Co-Authoring does not work with Excel Docs in Teams. We've tried going directly to the group, sharepoint and inside teams and every time it tells you the file is locked. A regular O365 group and OneDrive work fine but take that same file and put it in teams and no more co-authoring.

  3. Keyboard shortcuts

Hi, Can't you offer keyboard shortcuts to get to different tabs (activity, chat, teams, meetings, files)? This will make our life much easier.

    Thanks.

we have this!  ·  Warren responded

Teams does have some shortcuts you may use.

To see the shortcut list you can click on your user icon within Teams.
From the drop down list go to Keyboard Shortcuts.
A second window will open showing you the available shortcuts that Teams has to offer at this time.

    Keep posting feedback.

  4. Continued ringing in multi-member calls

    • Three participants, one on MacOS, others on Win10.

    • Mac participant starts IM with contact from contacts list.

    • Mac participant uses "Add people" to add the other participant (note issues has been seen without this step).

    • Either Win or Mac participant starts call.

    Expect:
Ringing until all participants join the call.

    Actual:
Even when all participants are active in the call, and can hear/be heard, the ringing continues on the computer of the user who started the call.

  5. Make alerts or badge notifications available on Microsoft TEAMS.

Information is getting lost when we don't have notifications coming in. There is a lot of competition for our attention and with MS TEAMS not having notifications, it looses the efficiency that it can achieve. I would recommend to put notifications for all messages coming in as well as badge notifications.

  6. Make it load faster and load in the background.

Right now it simply loads too slowly, and it has that massive in-your-face splash screen while doing it.

How about recording an audio call when initiating a Teams call, similar to how Skype for Business does ?

  8. Ability to move channels up and down in the list to organize/group similar threads

Our team has lots of projects (each with its own channel) that last 1 day to two weeks, would like the ability to organize channels on the left and slide them up and down the list to sort by priority/schedule date or by work area.

  9. Ability to search files within the Files tab in a Team

One good feature would be to be able to search in the Files section within a Team. You can provide a search button so we can search through the Files section without leaving the app.

  10. Linked youtube videos playable in conversation

When a user posts a URL to Youtube in conversations, it should play in conversations not open a browser/tap/app.

  11. Uploaded GIF's in chat have poor quality

When uploading a gif into a conversation, the preview of the gif that plays is of very poor quality, and often times trims off the last second or two of a animated gif.
When I'm viewing a gif in the conversation, I expect it to preview at the original quality, and at least not trim off seconds from the animated gif.

  12. More OneDrive functionality within the Teams App

It would be great if the Teams app could have the same controls for managing your OneDrive data as you have in a browser. One of our biggest issues is that people like to use windows explorer to access mapped drives. Not everyone wants to use the sync app and have files stored on the local computer to see files in explorer. I could see the Teams App being a good replacement for managing and accessing OneDrive data without a need to login to the portal or sync.

  13. Backups, Archiving and History for Legal Compliance

If we use MS Teams for firm wide chat, it is vital that all chat, for infinite history, is stored and recoverable, easily, for legal compliance reasons.

For example, we close a project on which we used MS Teams to discuss and work on together as a firm. We close that project. A year later we enter into litigation for that project. We then need to recall and show proof of conversations regarding that project, and the MS Team chat/channel conversations.

What functionality exists for this in MS Teams?

How do we do the recall if available?

    AND How long…

we have this!  ·  Suphatra responded

Hi everyone — here’s some clarity on our legal compliance.

As of now, Chat history for a Team is stored infinitely and available for eDiscovery/Content Search. So, the answer to your question depends on what you mean by closing the project. If you close the project, but don’t kill the Office 365 Group/Team associated with, everything should be still searchable. You should be able to recall/search for all chat activity that happened within the Team by scoping your compliance content search to the appropriate group mailboxes. The data is not lost.

Please let me know if you have any other questions! You can post a message here or tweet me @skprufo.

    Thanks,
    Suphatra

  14. "Open with" option for non-microsoft files

When trying to open a file that isn't OneNote, Word, Excel, or Powerpoint, it won't let you open the documents to edit them. Even files that belong to Microsoft Visio can't be opened. At least for my office we have Adobe products being used as well. Having a prompt come up for when app or program you want to use would be very useful. Also being able to save changes directly to the SharePoint library where the file originated. Downloading and reuploading in a creative environment with designers is a huge hassle.

  15. Setting to choose if Private Teams should still be searchable

We create our Teams as private by default since they are about the clients we work with. We are okay with everyone at the company knowing that these Teams exist, but we don't want them to be able to join them without permission.

The problem we're having is that people keeping asking 'does a Team exist for client X?' and there is no easy way to answer that question.

We'd like a way to search for private teams so that folks can request to join them.

  16. Ability to Group chats

It would be cool to group chats into different categories. So all the chats between people on my team, my managers, the IT help desk people I chat with, friends from outside my team etc.

  17. team channels - hierarchy.

Ability to provide channel hierarchy under a team would help alleviate space, improve visual search capabilities when trying to locate a team project

  18. Silence push notifications to mobile device when outlook set to out of office.

This request is to provide a feature where the teams app installed on a mobile device (iPhone, Android, Windows, etc) to not receive notifications when the person's outlook calendar says OOO for the day or specific time period. This is a grey area since the whole idea is to be informed and "always on" but when on vacation wouldn't want to be disturbed with them and consume unneeded battery life or privacy.

  19. Provide option for storing version history for Team files

SharePoint can store file version history. Since Team files are stored in SharePoint, please surface the version history within Teams.
