  1. Change the colour of Teams, the default purple is deterring everyone from even trying it, and refusing to move from Slack

Basically anything but purple or variant of it
Personally i like green, but variant of blue will also do

  2. Add more area to grip the title bar

The new ui changes make it very hard to move the desktop app around the screen. There are too many buttons on the title bar now and it seems the only grip point is between the search bar and the org link. It is very easy to miss click when trying to move the window around your desktop. I think that the search box should be reduced to add more title bar.

  3. Can we have an option to get rid of the Store icon in Teams?

Yeah, I get it, Microsoft wants to sell ****.

In a corporate environment, though, I can't actually buy anything. Nor do I want anything except a collaboration app that isn't a pain **********. So the icon is just more clutter in what I feel is an already-cluttered interface.

(I'm sure there are free apps in the store; I just don't care.)

  4. Chat heads

Can you make a chat head feature like what we have in Facebook? It would be easier to go back and forth with your chat messages while you are doing something on other areas of MS teams (i.e. channels).

We are looking into having multiple windows for Teams.

And thank you for the interesting idea!

  5. Quicker way to find contact and start conversation

Starting new conversation with colleague via teams (4-6 seconds, 7+ steps):
    1. Mouse click on pinned MS Teams on taskbar
    2. Wait for 1-2 seconds for MS Teams window to open
    3. Mouse click on "Search"
    4. Enter contact name
    5. Mouse click or down+enter to open chat
    6. Mouse click/focus message field
    7.Type + enter, message sent

Compared to Skype for business (1-3 seconds, 4 steps):
    1. Double click on taskbar Skype icon - window opens instantly
    2. Start typing contact name ("Search" is focused automatically)
    3. Press enter (first match chat window is opened, message field is focused)…

  6. I should be able to submit an attachment by hitting enter.

Right now, "enter/return" deletes the attachment. I have to click on the submit arrow. I actually want to just drag and drop an image and have it upload to the chat, no confirmation necessary. If i have to confirm, I should at least be able to hit enter to send.

  7. Make Subject line visible by default on new conversations

When starting a NEW conversation in a Channel, the subject line should be displayed by default and not hidden underneath the rich text expand button. Subject lines are very useful not only to let people know what that conversation is about, but also for searching later to return to the conversation after it has scrolled away some. We've enforced this on a few times internally using the honor system and have seen considerable success with keeping conversations on topic and getting people using the threading features.

You wouldn't send an email without a Subject would you? Why should Teams be…

  8. Resizing Issues!

We would like to see better resizing across the app.

    For example:

    Resizing chat windows
    Resizing channel width
    Resizable Teams menu
    Logo resizing
Make columns resizable in Files tab
Desktop app resizing to be mobile responsive
    Use 100% of resizable width
    Automatic resizing of PDFs
Ability to resize the pane where search and favorites are show

Hi Oscar, I sent this to our release manager! I think he’ll like the idea. I’ll let you know if we move on it.

    Have a great weekend.

  10. Move status change up in the UI hierarchy (to single-click position)

I change status frequently in this and other chat apps. Most others allow for a one- or two-click path (or on Macs, add it to the Touch Bar), while Teams has a minimum of three clicks.

  11. Make "Teams" and "Chat" the same Tab

There is no reason that Teams and Chat should be different top level categories in the left navigation. They are the same thing, perform exactly the same function, and making two different items simply confuses the navigation and makes badge notifications and discoverability much more difficult to use.

Please combine Chats into the Teams tab so that you can browse all conversations in one place rather than needing to navigate to different tabs to see different conversations.

Chats and channels perform essentially the same function, which is talk to some people and collaborate. Forcing the user to check two different…

  12. Relax browser support check

The current browser support check is too pessimistic and prevents some modern browsers from loading Microsoft Teams. For example, up-to-date Chrome on Ubuntu Linux is not considered a supported browser, even though changing the User-Agent string to Chrome on Windows allows Teams to load without any problems.

Please consider a) just letting the browser try to load Teams, b) using feature detection instead of the User-Agent string, or c) blacklisting known broken browsers instead of whitelisting if the User-Agent string is used.

This is still under review by the feature team. No new details yet.
