  1. Disable chat temporarily during meetings

Please allow meeting organizer to temporarily disable chat during a meeting.
We often have people so focused on the chat, they don't pay any attention to the actual meeting.
We'd love to be able to turn off chat at the beginning of the meeting, and then turn it back on at an appropriate point.

  2. Teams Meeting organizer can force mute audio for attendees

Give meeting organizers the ability to force mute audio for all attendees in the meeting options page. Attendees should not be able to un-mute their audio with this option set.

  3. Load picture as background instead of blur background in Teams video chat

How about loading a picture as a defined background instead of just blur the background during a Teams video chat?

So, for example, I could load an all black picture as the default background to keep the focus on me.

We are happy to announce that we have released user initiated custom video background images. For more details, please see the link below.

  4. Teams pop-up notifications no longer display on top of (fullscreen) applications

Since a recent change in Teams notifications no longer display on top when working in fullscreen mode. Most collegues work with a Remote Desktop client. Teams they run in the background on their local machine.
When you would receive a message or a call Teams would pop-up a notification on top of the RD-client. Since a recent update this no longer happens. You have to minimize te RD-client and other applications that run on your local machine, because they all show on top of the Notification.

I think this is caused by an update where Teams notifications now are using…

  5. Toggle for presenter view in presentation share during meetings

The presenter view when sharing a PowerPoint presentation is a great feature addition, however some users are finding this a hindrance and would like to disable it for their meetings. I can't see any way of doing this at present. Could a toggle be added to enable/disable the presenter view so that organisers/presenters have the choice of whether they use it or not.

    Many thanks!

  6. Introduce Freedesktop dbus notifications for Linux

Teams currently uses a custom notification which can't be controlled, and it breaks in tiling window managers such as Sway or i3. (Steals focus and position is always on the middle of the screen.)

  7. Screen Sharing with 3440 x 1440 Resolution shows as a black screen

Screen Share with recent Teams build for 3440 x 1440 resolution shows a black screen. Perhaps add an ability to see resolution or zoom or select what needs to be shared with the user.

  8. Microsoft Graph presence API

currently you can only query the present status via the API interface.

It would also be very important for providers who want to dock their tools to MS teams that the present status can also be set via the API interface.

is there any information about when this will be possible via the API interface?

  11. Speaker attribution in captions

During any Meeting in Teams, it could be great if it provides speaker username along with Captions while scrolling and it will be great if those captions within meeting group as saved as history(ex: char history). so, that it will be easy to recollect discussion happened by reading all captions without voice help& without anybody's help.

  13. Approvals app - Link files to Approval Request

The new Approvals app allows attaching files; however it would be great to be able to link a specific file or files, or even say a folder of files, to an approval request. Ideally, the specific versions of the files that were part of the approval request should also be tracked and users should receive an information message when they try to update a file that has been approved.

  14. Introduce breakout room functionality

We have a business requirement for breakout rooms with live events. The idea is pretty simple - we plan to use live events to host internal staff training webinars and as part of that, at times we will ask for small groups of people (typically 4-5) to go away into a breakout room and come back to the group with their answer/idea.

We would like to see this functionality be introduced to Microsoft Teams for not only live events but also video calls. This would provide feature parity with pre-existing tools such as Zoom, WebEx and many more which would…

  15. Update Teams using the latest Electron/Chromium version

The current version of Electron used to compile Teams is VERY out of date and is using Chromium v69, while the production version of Electron currently is using v83.

Using older Chromium versions in environments that have security audits can cause problems since it has the potential to flag CVE's that are unpatched in older Chromium versions. Not to mention, newer versions have various bug fixes and performance enhancements.

  16. Change default meeting options

The default meeting options are not adjustable at this time. By default, the meeting options are set so that no one has to wait in the lobby and everyone has the presenter role by default. For each meeting, the meeting owner must manually adjust it. There is currently no option to adjust the standard. This is not pleasant for an education tenant.

Make sure that it is possible to adjust the default meeting options.

p.s. this is / was possible in Skype

We’re happy to announce admins are able to change the default value of ‘Who can present?’ in Meeting Options via the new parameter, DesignatedPresenterRoleMode. For more information, please visit: https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/meeting-policies-in-teams or https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoftteams/policy-packages-edu

In addition there is a new default Teams meeting policy to enforce lobby in meetings for tenants who have not modified the default meetings policy. With this change, meeting organizers can define/fine-tune the lobby experience via the Meeting options feature. For information on meeting options, please see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e

    Thank you for your feedback!

  17. Additional Together mode templates

I'd love the ability to add further Together mode layout templates.

Maybe you could add your own buildings auditorium.

Muppet Mode would add some fun to Friday gatherings.

  18. Offer a native Windows on ARM (ARM64) version.

It'd be great if Teams had an ARM64 native client for Windows on ARM. I just got a Surface Pro X and while Teams works fine as a 32bit x86 app in emulation, I have no doubt it'd really shine as a native ARM64 app.

  19. Invite external users (guests) during MS Teams meeting

Currently, organizers can only invite organization-affiliated members to join the meeting while the meeting is running. For external users, you have to copy the meeting link, paste it into an email and send it. This is very inconvenient. It would be good to permit (like you can in the invite to the meeting) simply type the email addresses of extenal users while being in a meeting to also invite them.
