On most Macs I’ve tried, the automatic update framework is pretty aggressive, and apparently cannot be unconfigured. However, it consistently fails to update the app when I’m logged in with a standard account. The app occasionally prompts for admin creds (I assume it’s making an update helper daemon), and I supply them, but the only Helper process Teams ever runs is owned by the standard account. I’m not sure exactly what to suggest here, because there are several opportunities for change, some of which might obviate usefulness of others. Ideas might be some user interaction to defer the forced relaunch during updates, options for scheduling deferred updates, options to manually supply admin credentials at each update, improve reliability around whatever helper proc is supposed to facilitate updates.

FEDERATION REQUESTS:

1 -- When our team have a live call meeting we can not add people to the call that doesn't belong to the team, even if they are from the same company. Additionally can we brought client which will be federated.

2 -- Need to be able to P2P chat/call/screen share with federated partners and other Office 365 tenants that are trusted by default. Need to be able to add all of these same people into meetings.

Collaboration is a core element of how we work which requires the creation of extended teams on a project or long term engagement. Whilst the majority of our teams are internal staff, there is still a critical element of any project that requires the inclusion of our clients and/or external vendors. It is imperative that Microsoft Teams allows for the easy (but secure) inclusion of external parties for the length of any project or engagement.

This is why historically products like Groups etc. have not been adopted as widely as we would hope. If the tool only allows for 60-70% of a team to participate, it breaks. If a tool does not allow 100% of those who need to be involved to participate equally, if breaks and our users and clients have far too many alternative solutions that they can easily adopt (Slack etc.) to quickly and efficiently do their jobs.

Finally, making external parties sign up for a Microsoft account (such as Hotmail) to authenticate against any collaboration service does not work, and better approach is required and needed.

Windows Japanese IME is quite smart and allows users to enter roman alphabets (not Japanese characters) if the user typing with Shift pressed - even if the IME is on. It's very useful and many Japaneses utilize this function. Since IME is on during it, the user needs to press Enter to confirm the input.

Regarding input in Teams, sometimes IME turns off when I enter roman alphabets pressing Shift with IME on. Then, what happens is I press Enter without notice that IME turns off and submit the message accidentally. It's quite stressful.

If I can choose not to send a message by pressing Enter as requested below, it will be fine.

E911 for Teams. E911 is required for any corporate deployment and the minimum functional level would be the equivalent of what Skype for business server offers right now. Please see the following:

A user is mobile inside an organization multiple geographic locations and can call the 911 from anywhere with a PC on the lan with identified subnet.
Currently from the skype documentation:
“In a Skype for Business Server E9-1-1 deployment, each internally-connected Skype for Business or Lync Phone Edition client actively acquires its own location. After SIP registration, the client furnishes all the network connectivity information that it knows about itself it in a location request to the Location Information service”
“The Skype for Business client includes the PIDF-LO data as part of an emergency call, and this data is used by the E9-1-1 service provider to determine the appropriate PSAP and route the call to that PSAP along with the correct ESQK, which allows the PSAP dispatcher to obtain the caller's location”

Is it planned to be able to acquires location during the Teams client registration?
Is it going to be available from any Teams client (what about Teams mobile)
Which location request will be available (subnet? Bssid? …)

From Skype documentation:
“If there is not a match, the user may be prompted to enter a location manually (depending on location policy settings)”

If the user running Teams is not connected on the internal network, is it planned to prompted the user? Is it planned to be able to show a 911 warning on the client interface?

This message always pops up on the security officers' screen(s) and contains the caller's name, phone number, time, and location, enabling security personnel to quickly respond to the emergency caller by using an instant message or voice. If you configured the location policy for conferencing and it is supported by the E9-1-1 service provider, an internal Security Desk is conferenced into the call with either one-way audio or two-way audio.

Is it planned with Teams to be able to notify a desk security when a 911 call occurred?

Right now you can add a new tab for Planner in Teams. However, you are not afforded all the capabilities of Planner in this tab. Its really "Planner Lite." Here are some items you cannot do with Planner in Teams:

1) If you create a Planner in Teams, it will not be shown in Planner itself!
2) you can go to the group (in web outlook) wich is automatically created for the team and click there on planner and it will take you to the planner for the new group, which then cannot be displayed at teams, but the team was the purpose for the group in the first place?!
3) You cannot import a previous Planner into teams; you must recreate manually
4) Planner tasks do not sync from Planner to Teams
5) You can't get reminders for your Planner tasks in Teams
6) You can't choose different views (charts, etc.) of Planners when in Teams
7) You can't group by Progress of Planner items when in Teams
8) No view of Planner Hub

Please integrate Planner in Teams better and integrate Teams in Planner better!!
