  2. Improve Install options - Install for all users and install location

Raising this again as Microsoft closed the previous request, saying it was complete even though it was not. (link below)

Teams should install to the program files directory, not the users AppData.

And NO, the answer is not to put a copy of the MSI in Pogram Files and deploy to the users AppData when they login.

  4. Assign messaging policy to groups

With the new admin portal you can only assign messaging policy to individual users. Why is this happening when the previous admin portal let us set different options to for example Faculty, Students etc? It's near impossible to manage per-user Teams settings for several thousand students who come and go. We need to be able to let group membership control these settings in Teams.

  6. Disable exit notifications for channels

We need the ability to disable exit notifications on a teams channels. For example when a user is terminated and we remove their license we don't want a notification going out to everyone that the user has been removed from the team. For HR reasons we want to communicate a persons termination through email, rather than have people get immediate notifications before we have the chance to communicate clearly with our team. Having the option to turn this post off would be ideal.

  9. Allow admin config of the 'openAtLogin' user preference during initial installation

    • Add an admin control to disable the user preference 'Auto-start application' of the Teams client on OS restart during initial installation:

This user preference setting lives in the “desktop-config.json” file, located in C:\Users<userid>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams
In the ”appPreferenceSettings”: section this setting is called “openAtLogin” and is set to “true” by default.

We need to set it to “false" as part of the initial installation of the client, which is being done silently and ahead of the official launch day when users get tenant-enabled for Teams.

The reasoning to add this admin capability: if a user has the Teams client installed and…

  10. Allow the last two members in a group chat to leave the group

It would be great that the group chat feature would allow the last two members to leave the chat. Also, it would be helpful to have a feature to delete chat.

  14. Limit Org Wide Teams to actual users with licenses

When we create an Org-Wide team it adds every "user" account in our entire Active Directory into the team. Thsi includes service accounts, exchange heal mailboxes, and all kinds of things that aren't actual people. There needs to be an option so that we can choose to only invite actual users. If it can point to an OU, we can specify our "employees" out to rule out all the non-users. If it's limited to AD Online, then it could only add people who have an actual Office 365 license attached to their account. Every time we create a service account,…

  15. In What's New in Microsoft Teams, add build level information for the client

Would be very helpful for Teams admins to have a site that ties "what's new" to a build release level. Simply adding a release level mention in the What's New site would suffice ... or Microsoft can create a secondary tech-admin-site with granular tech details, especially if there are new GPOs or .json file configuration steps necessary.

  16. Is there a way to export team membership and email address?

Team Owners should have the ability to export team member names and email address into a .CSV file.

As an admin, I'd like to be able to double check with my support teams to figure out when we don't have proper access to reports and other sites that our Team Site is tied into.

So I'd like to be able to export the team member list so I can audit who is apart of the team, remove who isn't needed or share needed information to other parties.

  17. User Management Visibility

I think the user management notifications (Owner removed/has added Billy Smith from the Team) should only be visible to Owner. Or at least have the ability to turn that feature on or off.

    Thanks!

  18. Teams App notification options

We would like to have the possibility to set notification options at the Teams Channel level, so:

    1. Teams App - who gets notified (whole team, with exception) or (only certain members)

    2. Teams App notification allowed times or quiet times for all users on the whole channel (with exceptions for always notifications)

    3. Teams App notification types for the whole channel (Pop-up, vibrate, email or all)

    4. Consistent and immediate Teams App notifications.

Some times Teams app notifcations are not immediate and take many hours to appear.

    Thanks

  19. When the update to be deployed to Microsoft Teams desktop app

It would be great for admins to have a feature that can let them know when the update to be deployed to Microsoft Teams desktop app and let admins to control time frame of deployment and which network to be used for it.

  20. Block change picture

In Skype for Business we were able to prevent users from uploading pictures for their avatar. This was done from a PowerShell script that modified the OWA policy. We should have the same option with Teams. Hopefully in UI instead of PS.
