  1. Mac Teams Helper: Takes up too much CPU and makes app almost unusable

I can't use teams with out it lagging severely. When I go and look at the processes running, It always looks like the 'helper' is taking up crazy amounts of CPU and it lags out the application to the point of it almost being unusable.

I've tried closing the application, rebooting, re-installing, checking for updates, etc.. nothing works.

    I'm on macOS Mojave 10.14.2

  2. Teams does not respect "Do Not Disturb" on MacOS.

When I set my Mac to "DO NOT DISTURB" Teams still pops up notifications. This is really annoying when I'm sharing my screen in a meeting.

  3. Use a real About Teams dialog box

No one who's using Teams on macOS likes the simple act of seeing what version they are on because the about bar is non-standard and too subtle. Just use a real About box please, this isn't hard.

  4. Fix Dragging Screenshot Preview Window to Drop onto Chat or Channel

On macOS 10.14 or later, when you take a screenshot with any keyboard shortcut, you get a preview window like in the attachment right above the dock near the Trash.

You can't drag the screenshot preview window and drop it into Teams like you can for...any other app like Outlook.

  5. Ability to open Teams Window

Mac - there is no way to open the Teams Window if accidently closed. Typically on most MAC programs you can open a base window for the App you are in from the file or window menu.

  6. Add support for Keynote presentations

When presenting from Keynote via sharing your Keynote window you see the slide thumbnails and formatting options like you're looking at the presenter's screen instead of what is being presented. You cannot see this on the Mac that is sharing. Only on the Teams sharing screen.

  7. Dock options like changing status

Would be helpful to have some actions when right clicking the Dock icon, ie at least change our status (available, busy, etc), set the status message.

  8. Better indication of Why Teams is Hanging?

I'm having issues with teams where it comes up with a blank window. I've reinstalled, restarted, and other users don't seem to be having the same issue. I don't see anything in the logs that indicates what is going on. Would love some help on what things I should be looking for to fix this?

  9. Not working on slow internet connection

The Teams app and workflow is really great, but you constantly get slowed down or even knocked out when you're on a slow internet connection (even 450 Kbit/s is not enough).

Every couple of minutes, Teams shows "Please reconnect so we can keep your conversations going." even tough the connection is stable - but slow.
After some time, it suggests to reload the app, which takes ages. So it's not usable at all, which is very sad, considering how great it is.

  12. Add to Mac Share Menu

I'd love to be able to have Teams in the Share Menu from different apps. Instead of having to copy and paste a link

  13. MacOS freezes

Teams for MacOS would randomly freeze.
I can switch to it, but no windows with chats visible.
I have to force quite it and then re-open it to use it.

    Latest MacOS 10.14.5 (18F132)
You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.2.00.13765. It was last updated on 20/06/2019.

  14. OSX client updates - app quits multiple times a day

It seems whenever the OSX client updates, we get a “An update is ready to install. Microsoft Teams is trying to add a new helper tool.” authentication request, then the app quits. Or sometime the app just quits on it’s own without any notification. When it launches again, the “loading” box then sometimes doesn’t disappear. I really want to roll this out for our teams to start playing with, but having the app quit on us ~10 times a day without notification makes it unusable.

needs your feedback  ·  Warren responded

Please email me your logs so I can have the development team investigate.

You can generate logs by using the shortcut CRTL+ALT+SHIFT+1

This will generate a txt file in your Downloads folder starting with the name “MSTeams Diagnostics Log……………”.

Please email the logs to: TEAMSML@microsoft.com and use the Subject line of “OSX client – App Quits”

    Thank you!
    -Warren

  15. Catalyst Teams Mac App

Please look at making a Catalyst version of the Mac Teams app for 10.15 (ie. iPad app on Mac).
The current Electron app is slow and sluggish.

  17. Alias for contact

I can give my contact in Jabber a different display name that is easier for me to remember. But I couldn't do the same thing in Microsoft Team. I'd like to see this functionality added.

  18. Distribute macOS installer as a drag and drop DMG

I'd be open to using Teams for collaborating with outside organizations, but to install Teams on macOS, the outside person will have to have administrative privileges on their mac. When they don't, we can't achieve intended results.
In contrast, Teams for Windows can be downloaded and run without admin, and Zoom.us and GoToMeeting distribute applications than can be directly run, without requiring privileges to run an installer app.

  20. Fix this: downloading a .txt file in Teams on a Mac using Safari opened the file in that browser tab instead

While using Office365 Teams via the Safari browser on my Mac computer, I clicked the ellipsis symbol next to a plain ordinary .txt file and then selected the Download option. Instead of downloading the file as it should have done (and as anyone would expect), the .txt file was opened in the same browser tab, replacing the Teams chat i which I had been working.
