  1. Mac Teams Helper: Takes up too much CPU and makes app almost unusable

I can't use teams with out it lagging severely. When I go and look at the processes running, It always looks like the 'helper' is taking up crazy amounts of CPU and it lags out the application to the point of it almost being unusable.

I've tried closing the application, rebooting, re-installing, checking for updates, etc.. nothing works.

    I'm on macOS Mojave 10.14.2

  2. Teams does not respect "Do Not Disturb" on MacOS.

When I set my Mac to "DO NOT DISTURB" Teams still pops up notifications. This is really annoying when I'm sharing my screen in a meeting.

  3. Add support for Keynote presentations

When presenting from Keynote via sharing your Keynote window you see the slide thumbnails and formatting options like you're looking at the presenter's screen instead of what is being presented. You cannot see this on the Mac that is sharing. Only on the Teams sharing screen.

  4. Ability to open Teams Window

Mac - there is no way to open the Teams Window if accidently closed. Typically on most MAC programs you can open a base window for the App you are in from the file or window menu.

  5. OSX client updates - app quits multiple times a day

It seems whenever the OSX client updates, we get a “An update is ready to install. Microsoft Teams is trying to add a new helper tool.” authentication request, then the app quits. Or sometime the app just quits on it’s own without any notification. When it launches again, the “loading” box then sometimes doesn’t disappear. I really want to roll this out for our teams to start playing with, but having the app quit on us ~10 times a day without notification makes it unusable.

needs your feedback  ·  Warren responded

Please email me your logs so I can have the development team investigate.

You can generate logs by using the shortcut CRTL+ALT+SHIFT+1

This will generate a txt file in your Downloads folder starting with the name “MSTeams Diagnostics Log……………”.

Please email the logs to: TEAMSML@microsoft.com and use the Subject line of “OSX client – App Quits”

    Thank you!

  7. Distribute macOS installer as a drag and drop DMG

I'd be open to using Teams for collaborating with outside organizations, but to install Teams on macOS, the outside person will have to have administrative privileges on their mac. When they don't, we can't achieve intended results.
In contrast, Teams for Windows can be downloaded and run without admin, and Zoom.us and GoToMeeting distribute applications than can be directly run, without requiring privileges to run an installer app.

  8. Fix this: downloading a .txt file in Teams on a Mac using Safari opened the file in that browser tab instead

While using Office365 Teams via the Safari browser on my Mac computer, I clicked the ellipsis symbol next to a plain ordinary .txt file and then selected the Download option. Instead of downloading the file as it should have done (and as anyone would expect), the .txt file was opened in the same browser tab, replacing the Teams chat i which I had been working.

  9. Not working on slow internet connection

The Teams app and workflow is really great, but you constantly get slowed down or even knocked out when you're on a slow internet connection (even 450 Kbit/s is not enough).

Every couple of minutes, Teams shows "Please reconnect so we can keep your conversations going." even tough the connection is stable - but slow.
After some time, it suggests to reload the app, which takes ages. So it's not usable at all, which is very sad, considering how great it is.

  10. macOS teams client needs to support Conditional Access where we can block fat client but allow web only Teams

Teams for MacOS client needs to support Conditional Access where we can block fat client but allow web only Teams access. Organizations that decide to block all local data due to industry regulations and compliance need this and often the executives are the most popular group to use MacOS devices

  11. boin.kim@8byte.co.kr

    I'm a person who's using "Microsoft teams."

There is some inconvenience in using it, so I hope you can improve the following quickly.

    1. The user wants to update the profile picture, but the desktop doesn't have a place to edit the profile picture. So I updated my profile picture on the mobile app. Please allow me to update my profile picture on my desktop.
    2. The user has updated the profile picture, but it is not visible to the other person. (Desktop, mobile app)

I use MAC OS. Please update it quickly. Thank you.

  13. Unintended windows switching when screen sharing on Mac client

Using the Mac client, whenever I'm sharing screen the display keeps jumping back to the team chat window. It's very annoying because I have to go back to whatever window I'm intending to share several times, everytime I try to do this. Please check it out and don't hesitate to contact me, I could provide videos of this behavior or further information about my machine.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,

    Christian Kook

Teams for MacOS would randomly freeze.
I can switch to it, but no windows with chats visible.

You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.2.00.13765. It was last updated on 20/06/2019.

  15. Catalyst Teams Mac App

Please look at making a Catalyst version of the Mac Teams app for 10.15 (ie. iPad app on Mac).
The current Electron app is slow and sluggish.

  16. Open application in background for Mac

In Windows..Settings..Application, there is a setting to "Open Application in Background" I would like this on the MacOS version. When Teams opens it interrupts any application that I am working on.

  17. Add to Mac Share Menu

I'd love to be able to have Teams in the Share Menu from different apps. Instead of having to copy and paste a link

  19. Bundle identifier ID of MS Teams for Chrome on MAC

When trying to set the MS Teams app as default handler for opening and calling of tel-Links on Chrome for MAC, then as default is set the app Microsoft Teams Helper, instead of MS Teams, because both applications have the same bundle identifier ID: com.microsoft.teams.
Microsoft Teams Helper should have another bundle identifier ID, so that it is different from MS Teams, so that Chrome can connect correctly to MS Teams.
Please check the attachment for comparison.

  20. stop asking me to download your malware or upgrade to your non-performant cloud services

    0/5 stars

don't give a $#!+ about your app, ok? your "app" is an os shim, wrapped around an electron app, which loads the same web app that runs in any "supported" browser. and y'all wonder why performance, and system resource utilization sucks?

you might be fooling the n00bs, but not anyone who is familiar with your bull$#!+.

and seriously ... does the teams really need to communicate with 2-dozen-plus hosts, multiple times a minute? i think not.

also, if one does not have OneDrive service, stop asking about that $#!+, as well. it's bad enough my company wastes operating…
