  1. Incorporate Meta Data into Teams

We have mandatory meta data requirements on files that are placed on SharePoint. When documents are uploaded to Teams it uploads them to SharePoint in the back end with no options for tagging them. I would like to be able to upload a document in Teams and tag that document with its appropriate meta data without having to go into SharePoint. Currently there are no options for applying meta data to documents in Teams.

  3. Delete files shared in chat

Files shared in Chat are stored to OneDrive, but there is no way to delete file from within Teams. When file is deleted from OneDrive, it is (of course) no longer available and the individual gets a "Sorry, we couldn't find you file" error.

I would like to remove the shared file entry from the Teams chat.

  4. Private Channels should not create a site collection

Creation of site collection for private channels is not practical. Office 365 considers it as a new site and you came across to references of this new site everywhere. This was not the expectation. Private Channels should just be folders within the main group site as it used to be. You just created sub-groups, not private channels!

  5. Allow admins to decide the site structure resulting from the creation of Team Channels

I have noticed multiple times since the release of MS Teams that getting a folder inside the default Documents library each time you create a new channel doesn't fit the architectural needs of the site.
I, as admin, would like to be able to pick from the following 3 structural options when configuring new Teams:
    1. Default behavior, getting a folder inside Shared Documents library for the new Channel.
    2. New document library for the new channel.
    3. New Subsite (with default Shared Documents library) for the new Channel.

This doesn't have to be too complicated, if the new level…

  6. Drag and Drop Outlook Attachments into Files

Would be great if you could drag and drop Outlook attachments right into Teams. The need to download/save the file, then go to that location and drag into Teams seems silly!

  7. Enforce quota limits on private channels by default

The private channel capacity is 25 TB by default.
In SharePoint Online, quota limits are set for each team.
It is a problem that this setting does not apply.
I hope the quota limit is applied by default.

  8. Show the hierarchy of folders when uploading files

I would like to see the hierarchy of folders when uploading files in Teams. It would be helpful to view to which team we would get the file uploaded.

  9. Class Materials folder access on mobile app - both Android and iOS

At present, the automatically created 'Class Materials' folder, and any other linked folder or special folder in a Teams files tab is not available through the mobile app for Android or iOS.

This presents a problem for teachers posting class materials, as students can't access them on the device they are most likely to use - mobile phone.

We'd like to see all content in the files tab available through the Android and iOS mobile app, specifically and most importantly for us, the 'Class Materials' folder.

The 'Class Materials' folder provides essential functionality for a teacher to share resources that…

  10. Check before sending files

When attaching a file, the file name will be displayed.
But I can't open the file.

Before submitting, you need to make sure the file is correct.
I want a function to check before sending files.
This is required for private and group chats.

  11. Add "attach to email" option from Files in Teams

If you are working in Teams and want to send one of your files to someone outside of the Team, your options for sending it as an attachment are clunky and many clicks. You can download the file and then attach it to an email, you can open the file in Word (or whatever relevant program) and then "share" and send as an email attachment, and there are some similarly clunky options. It would be nice if there were a simple menu item for Teams files to simply "attach to email" so you can send to external customers or people…

  12. Upload files into directly into folders in Teams on iOS app

A requested feature in Teams on iOS device is the ability to upload files directly to folders in Teams. At this time, you may upload files in the conversation tab, but it will be uploaded directly in the root of the team. In what I request, you should be able to access the Teams file archive, go to the folder where you want to upload the file and then upload.

The picture shows where I'd love to have an "attach a file"-button.

  13. Sort files default by name in teams.

Sort files in Teams. Under files, the files are not sorted in "Names" by default. I have to press the sort button Name every time.

  14. Request a feature to be enabled to upload files directly from [File] tab in Microsoft Teams apps with iOS

    ■Title(件名):

Request a feature to be enabled to upload files directly from [File] tab in Microsoft Teams apps with iOS.

    ■Description(内容):
Currently, there is no item available to upload under Teams Channels [File] tab in Microsoft Teams iOS. I would like to upload files directly to the [File] tab without publishing any posts and hope the upload feature in the [File] tab will be implemented just like that of the browser version.

  15. Files results in search should show the full location

Looking for a file location after you search for it is difficult. Obviously you can open the file, but that does not help. The entire location should be displayed. It would be under the title in the File results list, but it usually is cut off. I normally have to "open in SharePoint" to see where it is. That's really annoying.

  16. URL shortener for Teams

When using the "get link" option in teams it would be better to have an embedded link shortener. Pasting the link in email looks terrible.

  17. Teams Files Cloud Storage Availbale on Mobile

From within my Team, in my Files area, I have the option to add cloud storage. I can then see this from Teams in the desktop Teams client and from web client, however I am not able to see this additional cloud storage when accessing from my iPhone or iPad Teams app.

  19. Drag and drop - moving files within Teams

Give us the ability to drag and drop folders and files into other folders. This will help us be more organized.

  20. Allow custumizable download location for files

It would be great if you could choose the default download location in Teams
It would be cool that if you click on the download button it will do 1
    and if you right-click you would get a drop-down-menu with 1, 2 and 3
