I am a student and have enjoyed using Teams, and I think it has many great features; however, I would like to suggest how it even further enhance the experience. Unlike most applications, Teams only allows you to view one screen at a time. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have resorted to conducting school online. That ability to only view one screen at a time has proved to be less than desirable because most of my teachers will post a resource in the form of a PDF and then a separate document to answer questions. I have to close one copy to always go to the other, and I have often lost my place because of it. With the constant back and forth, students also run the risk of losing their work because sometimes the teachers’ settings for editing the document don’t allow you to save your work automatically. If you could fix this to have multiple windows or tabs open in Teams, that would save so many people much time!

Another suggestion I would like to make is to have more options to manage the user's notifications. During the entirely virtual stage of our school year, we would have a Team video meeting for each class. Students have the option to get an alert a certain amount of time before your class begins, which has been helpful. However, it doesn’t give the user many options to choose what alerts you get. This year, my computer and cellphone have been bombarded by notifications because anytime the teacher posts anything, changes a due date, or essentially does anything, there is a notification for that. If you could find a way to allow the user to have more control over what they get notifications for, that would be amazing! I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope you will consider my advice.

TL;DR: Allow using the LGV even in small meetings to get the benefit of downloading a single video stream instead of several, when the available bandwidth can't handle several streams.

There's several places where the Internet connection has very small bandwidth, or is very spotty. Our kids' school uses Teams and creates meetings with at most 6 pre-school/elementary grade students at a time. This means the option to use Large Gallery View is disabled for them, and almost every time they have issues because they each see 1, 2 or 3 video feeds from the other participants (but video is very important for little kids and their teachers).
If there was a single feed coming down instead of the several separate ones, this would no longer be an issue. I tried using the "Together mode" which also creates a single stream, and the video works well (and it's what I do with my work meetings), but this is not feasible with kids, as they are constantly showing their work, or the teachers need to interact with the work, or they are cooking, etc. Here the smart background cropping of each person is not desirable, and LGV would work very well.

Thousands of band, chorus, and orchestra directors are teaching music virtually via Microsoft Teams. I would like to have the option to prioritize audio bandwidth, rather than video, and also be given the ability to disable echo cancellation to accommodate music’s broad dynamic ranges. Currently, it is impossible for multiple musicians to unmute themselves and perform together, which means my classes of 50+ students are never going to be able to use this program with more than one person unmuted at a time.
Lastly, and I'm not sure if this is even possible, but timing for audio seems to be connected to each student's individual bandwidth. If there was a way to equalize the incoming sound so that we were as close to the same bandwidth speed as possible, we might be able to play in time together in larger groups.
