  1. Improve Microsoft Teams accessibility

Microsoft Teams is not as accessible for blind persons, as it is necessary for them to work with it independently. When using a screenreader, it is very difficult for a blind user to get to the material (s)he wishes to find. This is the result of a test in the downloaded app version, in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer: In all cases, it is very difficult to navigate well and e.g. get all documents (and screenreading softrware Virtual Jaws doesn’t improve the situation). It is important to explore how to improve this, as Microsoft Teams is getting more and more…

  2. Add the ability to have multiple windows open for chats, teams and channels?

It's very hard to keep track of multiple chats and teams all in one window - and time-consuming to keep navigating between them. It would be really useful to have multiple windows available that we can keep open for chats, teams and channels.

  5. Want to reply to particular message just like Whatsapp on desktop version

If we want to reply to particular message just like option which is available while accessing from Teams on Mobile, the same should have on desktop versions. It's good for replying to particular message in group chats while working.

  6. Please make Teams multi-window

From the company which invented Windows... a single-window productivity application. Really?
As multi-tasking is the accepted way of operating now, why does it need to take so long for me to switch from one task in Teams to another and back again? Please fix.

  8. Keyboard shortcut for mute/unmute microphone

A setting to make use of a keyboard to fast mute/unmute your microphone, this is a very good quality of live feature

  9. **actual** markdown support

The current markdown implementation is simply bad as it's not actual markdown. Instead it's some kind of in-line format guesser that changes what you type on enter.

    • it doesn't work in the client

    • it doesn't apply to messages submitted via webhook integrations

    • it doesn't work on cut-n-pasted text

    • it's not complete (tons of markdown syntax missing)

    • it doesn't allow simple shortcuts via "/extension" (looking at you, /giphy)

in-line reformatting is slow and often unpredictable in the way it responds as you type, making for a poor experience, especially as you attempt to reformat a message you started typing.

    Remember Teams…

  10. Allow the addition of Alt Text for images

The addition of Alt Text is a basic accessibility consideration. Currently we can't do this is Teams (you can do it easily in Yammer).

Currently we are using the work around of adding descriptive text when posting an image.

  11. Provide keyboard shortcut to open the captioning settings pane

Currently the only way to toggle the closed captions view as well as manage your settings is to mouse or tab to the icon. Providing simple keyboard shortcuts will enable the user to quickly adjust to suit their needs.

  12. autocorrect in chat

In Chat, please could we set up autocorrect words for frequently used words or frequent mistakes - like we can in Office docs.Or could Teams use the Office autocorrect list? For instance, when typing in a hurry on a UK keyboard I often type "can;t" instead of "can't". I'd love autocorrect to fix this automatically for me - it works in Outlook as I've set up a correction.

  13. caption

    Live Meeting Closed Captions scrolling.

The new live closed captions during meetings are awesome!!
Sometimes people talk extremely fast and the captions scroll away before I can read everything. Would it be possible to make the captioning window larger and add the ability to scroll back and forth?

  14. Slash commands should be available in the same place we type messages.

As a power user, I wish to be able to enter slash commands in the same control where I type messages, because the inability to do so goes against more than 30 years of precedent for chat applications. Having to enter them elsewhere is counter intuitive and frustrating.

From an accessibility point of view it makes no sense to force the user to navigate to another control where they still need to type the slash.

IRC has had slash commands for more than 30 years. Slack, Mattermost, Zoom... all have slash commands integrated in the text entry control too.

    Integrating…

  15. NEED shortcut key to bring Teams to the forefront, put the insertion point in the Search bar

Please, please add a shortcut key combination to bring Microsoft Teams to the forefront and place the cursor/insertion poit in the Search bar.

The key combo for Skype was CTRL+ALT+Shift+3. I know that is A LOT of keys and sounds complex but it was incredibly useful, I use it all the time... We always have so many windows open on our desktop, this is a great time saver. PLEASE CONSIDER it!!

  16. Seperate windows for conversations

Rather than every conversation being on the main teams window, they could appear in their own smaller individual window, similar to Skype for business

  17. different icon when on the phone

different icon when on the phone

the status is currently only displayed in red when you are on the phone.
the red icon means he is busy, in a meeting or on the phone. it would be good if there was an icon red with a phone to directly recognize that the person on the phone is

  18. Please make the answer call icon on the incoming call popup Green! the popup is blue, the icon is blue. its confusing

The popup is blue, the answer call icon is blue, it's confusing. The "ignore call" icon is red and stands out. Users inadvertently click on the wrong icon. frequently. Making the "answer call" icon green would cause it to stand out. (image attached)

  19. Split Screen when in a meeting

When in a meeting allow the shared content screen to go to half of the teams window while the other half has teams functionality (chat, groups, files etc.) to allow better multitasking. Either right/left or top/bottom orientation would be preferable.

  20. Sort conversations so the newer posts are at the top rather than bottom

Messages currently come in with latest content at the bottom of the page. It would be best to use the same format as Yammer and other social media platforms to avoid confusion.

It should also move the "Start a new conversation" to the top so that its clear you're adding a new conversation and not responding to a prior thread. The actual version if confusing for new users and a lot a unwanted new threads are created because of this.
