  1. Searching - go to chat

When I finally find the message that contains a phrase that I was searching, I would like to see it in a wider context. By clicking 'go to chat' I understand 'go to chat, where the phrase was found'. Now 'go to chat' leads me to the last message from the chat.

  2. Search bar- lower case, uppercase matters in search...ruins functionality.

Search bar needs to find items w/out taking into account caps or lowercase. ex TENNIS or tennis- ruins functionality.

  3. search auto-populate best option

When you search, it would be great if the search tool started to automatically populate what it thinks is the best option. This would allow you to just hit Enter if it is on the right search choice instead of being forced to use the mouse or arrows to select the right option.

  4. Improved search that searches through everything

If I´m trying to use Teams as my main hub of communications it would be handy if teams search can search for anything and everything.

It would search my emails, files, chats, team discussions, groups, sharepoint etc. Basically the extent of my O365 reach.

To many times a file can´t be found as you can´t remember where you put it, to many times you can´t remember if the discussion was via teams, email or chat etc.

  5. search twitter feed

It would be great if it was possible to search for specific # and @ in the Twitter Connector. This is especially useful if you follow several tags/mentioned.

  6. Channel search results should open the whole thread

When searching for something from a channel conversation, the results returned are atomic, so I cannot find the whole context of the thread.

    Repro steps:
    1) Have a conversation in a channel about a complex topic (in this case, using a VPN)
    2) Allow several other conversations to happen in channel, where scrolling is no longer a convenient way to find it
    3) Search for your old conversation by keyword
    4) Select the proper result in the search results pane

Expected: You are now at that post in the conversation
Currently: A lot of results are in the "main" pane,…

  7. comtence

    Hi,
Just a quick suggestion as we have decided to go all-in on Teams in my company, which means leaving our SharePoint Intranet platform as well.

I was just considering if, Microsoft is planning to visualize competences on user profiles better in teams than it is today - it would be great. I was just thinking about a situation where I receive a call and in a hurry must find a ressource with this competence

    Today:
Search for user in team > I see basic information like address; phone number, etc. No competences.

If Microsoft is planning to use Teams…

  9. Matching Channels Should Show Up in Team Search

Channel names that match a search in "Team Search" should show up in the search along with the team they are a part of.

Depending on how we use the two entities they could be relatively interchangable - a user searching should not have to know ahead of time that the "abc" channel they are looking for is a part of "xyz team"

  12. Selecting Team from Team Search Results Should Highlight and Expand Team on Left

I have a few hundred teams. When I use the search under Teams to find the Team I want, and click it, it does show the correct team on the right, but suppose I didn't want the General channel, suppose I wanted another channel, now I must click the team name at the top ("Team_Name > General"), then click "Channels" and click the channel I wanted.

This is because in my list of a few hundred teams, I cannot be bothered to scroll through the long list of team names on the left navigation tree.

    It would be better if,…

  13. Add search engine in office 365

For example when the conversation is very long or there is many files in some teams, it would be very usefull to have search engine to find the thing you want to find.

  14. Search Results "Go to the chat" link should take you to the result entry within the relevant chat

currently the "Go to the chat" link when you're viewing a Search Result takes you to the end of the chat.
It should bring you to the right date and time, so that you can see the search result in the context of the conversation.

  15. Add search on every chat session not just a common one

Add search on every chat session not just a common one. Its really hard to search globally. Adding a search option under each chat session would help a lot.

  17. Search on Partial Names

I'd like to be able to search on partial names. For instance, if I'm looking for "Robert Smith", when I type in "Rob" I may get 20 people proposed. I want to be able to type in "Rob S" and get Roberts with a last name starting with S. However, the search currently does an exact match. So "Robert" != "Rob" and "Robert Smith" falls out of the results.

    Given names in Teams:
"Robert Adams", "Rob Dean", "Robert Nice", "Robert Smith"

    As is:
"Rob" matches "Robert Adams", "Rob Dean", "Robert Nice", "Robert Smith"
    "Rob S" matches no results

    Would like: …

  18. Search engine should search on team name, like desktop version

Somehow when you search for a team name in the iPad version, there is no results, or the wrong. I expect to get the team names.
