I am unable to get any pop-up notifications on my phone from the Teams app. I have checked the following settings: On the app:
Menu/Settings/Notifications:Send Notifications - "Always, even if active on desktop"
Push Notifications - All selected
Sound - set on with vibrate
On the phone:
Settings/Notifications:
Teams set to notify

Remove private chat reactions from the activity feed
The activity feed does not show private chat messages but it does show private chat reactions. This is very confusing. Either the activity feed should show both private messages and private reactions or neither.

Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"

Respect Focus Assist
Teams should respect Windows Focus Assist settings. I'm not even sure how apps are allowed to override Windows settings like this.
I put Windows Focus Assist into Alarms Only mode so I could record screen captures and I Teams kept popping up notifications over my application. I had to completely exit Teams so I could finish my task.94 votes -
Can you please differentiate the notifications for activity versus a direct message?
I want to reply to DMs quickly, but find that many alerts are activity alerts that don’t need immediate attention or in some cases, no attention. But I find myself flipping over to Teams a lot in case it is a DM. Can you somehow make the notifications different? Thanks!

Notifications using first word of displayname
Currently Teams is sending notifications towards other users when they are offline or unreachable. In those notifications the first word of the displayname is being used instead of the full Displayname or just the given (first) name. In large organisations this leads to very confusing funny situations. As an example we use as displayname the last name followed by a comma and then the first name.
So at the end you get notifications like Hi Van, Van has send you a message.

Notifications: Control Blinking, Banner, Email Separately
Currently there is no way to separate banner notifications from blinking taskbar notifications from emails. I'd like to be able to control these things separately.
The banner notification is useful for me and an email would be too.
However, the blinking notifications in the task bar are a huge interruption to my workflow. To make it stop blinking i need to open teams, select the appropriate chat, and then if I don't read & deal with the message right away - there's no reminder to come back to it. I would prefer an icon or symbol that reminds me that…

Provide the option to schedule a conversation post
I want to prepare a post in a conversation now so it will appear at a later (specific) date/time.

Add Notifications Feature to Team Chats
When you send a message to your team chat, team members don't get any notification. It's so surprising that such a basic feature has been ignored constantly.
There are some apps that I would like to use with my team or I simply want to make announcements or send a group chat to my team but nobody knows what's going on unless they choose to check the team chat page.
Please bring this basic feature to Microsoft Teams as it's really frustrating to be unable to notify members of the team of the chat.

Want notifications to appear when using web client

Our company has a rule that prohibits the installation of the client app, so we had to use the web client version of Microsoft Teams.
In the case of the client app Microsoft Teams will send a notification even when the user is working in other windows or files, but for the web client notifications are shown only within the window that is currently being used thus these notifications get hidden and…3 votes -
New Notification Type - Sound Only
Users need to hear a notification sound when new chats come in, but do not want an email / banner coming in because they are continuously sharing screens with others and confidential information is being seen if the Teams app is running and banners are on.
Currently - Sound set to All - but if Chat is set to off, we don't get a Sound. The only way we hear a sound is if Chat is set to Banner or Banner Email.
We need an option to set Chat and other notifications to Sound Only
So options should be:
Banner …

Add option to turn off "do you like teams" and call quality feedback.
The Teams app is constantly asking me if I "like the teams app", and full-screens a call quality feedback after most calls. This is highly annoying and distracting. I always get mad at it and say no. Not because it asked, but because it continually asks over and over again like an incessant child with histrionic personality disorder.
Please make it stop!!!!

When running e.g. Skype meeting and having portal.office.com open there are sound notifications for every email being received
When running e.g. Skype meeting and having portal.office.com open there are sound notifications for every email being received, something that can be very annoying.
It's possible for each user to turn this off, but we want to be able to turn this off in our organisation by default.
These settings are available in GUI through Office 365 Settings > Notifications > Reminder Sound & New Mail Sound.

Ability to cross post to the "general Channel" with a simple mention vs format change
if you are posting a new conversation in one channel, and want it to also show in the "general channel" so no one misses it as they are reviewing a day's work, you should be able to mark something in the conversation or reply to have the comment show in multiple channels.

Remove multiple notifications when someone is out of office. This is maddening and completely unnecessary.
Currently, the out of office setting from Outlook is triggering an out of office pop up EVERY SINGLE TIME we go back into a chat in EVERY SINGLE CHAT that the person who is out of office is in. This is maddening and very distracting. We had a person on medical leave for a month and and single day, multiple times a day, we had to close out the pop up stating that he was out of office. Please provide an option to either only show one time or turn off completely in Teams since we already get the reply…

Auto Do Not Disturb during meetings
Currently, Teams automatically changes your status during an Outlook scheduled meeting to "Busy." Can you make it an option to have it automatically change to "Do Not Disturb"? I often take my laptop to in-person meetings and keep getting distracted with banner messages.

Channel or Team Notifications
Teams does not provide any notification when someone posts to a Team channel. We have people not realising that someone's said something in a channel because people expect to have a notification that this happens. No one constantly checks Teams to see if there has been any activity.
Could there be a banner notification at least on a "per-Team" basis telling us someone has posted something to one of our channels?
At a minimum, some kind of generic notification that activity has occurred within any one of your Teams would be useful.
