  1. We would like to block chat by TEAM and not turn it off for the domain, or by role

We have some Teams that really want to have the chat feature, clubs and teams and teacher groups and teacher/student groups, But we also have some Teams with younger students that are not using chat appropriately ie. 5th grade. It would be SUPER if we could control the Chat and the Video capabilities by each Team Owner.

  2. Open files in office desktop by default instead of within Office Online in Teams

Open files (powerpoint, excel, ...) on desktop by default instead of within Powerpoint Online in Teams, or at least be able to configure the default method for opening.

  3. Option to disable banner while still receiving notification

We would like to have an option that disables the pop-up notification but still allows the icon to blink on the taskbar, like Skype or Skype for Business.
Currently we only have the option to have the pop-up banners which are intrusive on a single screen setup, or to disable them completely.

  4. Limit Org Wide Teams to actual users with licenses

When we create an Org-Wide team it adds every "user" account in our entire Active Directory into the team. Thsi includes service accounts, exchange heal mailboxes, and all kinds of things that aren't actual people. There needs to be an option so that we can choose to only invite actual users. If it can point to an OU, we can specify our "employees" out to rule out all the non-users. If it's limited to AD Online, then it could only add people who have an actual Office 365 license attached to their account. Every time we create a service account,…

  5. applocker

Deploying this to the user's profile make administration of the application for AppLocker problematic. Especially if it is self-updating. Any file hash or certificate rules would be subject to change without notice.

  6. Outbound Number Manipulations per PSTN Device

In skype for business server, we had the ability to write "Called Number Translation Rules" and "Calling Number Translation Rules" for each PSTN gateway.

There is no functionality to do this in Teams, so for each SBC I need to translate the powerful regex and translation statements that were available in Skype Server into the SBC.

I feel this is a huge functional oversight.

  7. order of conversation

It would be great if you could change the default order of conversations, so that instead of it being ordered by most recent activity on the thread, it was ordered by the most recent posting of conversations. The reordering of conversations as people participate on the threads is jarring, and you can always find recent activity through the Activity tab.

  8. Need the opportunity to unmute all participants on the meeting.

An Admin setting needs to be available so when a meeting is set up you can opt to un-mute all participants who join and give them the option of muting themselves. Also, the meeting owners need the ability to unmute participants.

  10. Teams function with Sharepoint On-prem

Make it possible to link Teams with an existing SharePoint onprem.
Because not every Userdata and DB values could be legally uploaded(in Cloud) in some countrys. Data security is sometimes much more Importen for each files/entrys. (and companys)

  11. Hability to setup the default site collection on SharePoint

It should be possible to setup where the Teams Sites are being created!
For the moment its using the default site collection and this is something that in my opinion should be possible to define the site colleciton to use.
or has an workaround to be able to disable the default "Files" option to avoid the creation of a subsite in a collection that is not intended to be used.

  12. Usage statistics of my teams

As we have in SharePoints with "site use", it would be great to have measurable information about each team that I'm using or that I'm the owner of. This would help community managers / owners to gather information on their way to encourage adoption and the uses of teams in their respective workgroups.

New business analytics report is a big picture of the organization but not really To have stats directly in their teams would be just great.

  14. Entierprise Deployment .MSI That Installs Into C:\Program Files

Build an MSI that will install the Teams application into "C:\Program Files". Then any user that logs onto the computer can go to Start > Search for Teams > Launch Teams > Sign in to their account > Then Teams Builds the appropriate App Data folder for them.

This would be great for Enterprise Deployment. Some Enterprise project groups consist of 15-20+ people, and having an enterprise deployment solution would help speed up Microsoft Teams adoption.

  15. Prevent member from leaving a team

We should be able to lock Team / Office 365 group in such way that members can't leave the team.

  16. Allow Guest access to custom domains on Tenant level

Guest access should be restricted for customized domains on Tenant level in Microsoft Teams. Right now it is allowing the user to send request to all the domains with guest access. My companies are involved in their compliance and require to allow Guest access to limited domains only.

  17. Improve third party file integration: make it off by default; make the settings available at both the tenant and team level & easier to find

The comments at https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/Microsoft-Teams-adds-third-party-file-integration/ba-p/80880 are all going nuts about:

    1) The fact that the integration was pushed live by default, opening up the door to shadow IT without active consent.

    2) The setting should be controllable both that the tenant level (to allow or shut down access globally), and at the team level (so if it is allowed at the tenant level, team owners would have the the option to allow or disallow it for their specific team).

    3) People struggle to find the settings that control this buried in the 365 admin center. I first looked in the Teams…

  19. Make UnifiedGroupWelcomeMessageEnabled Work for Teams

Scenario: setting this setting to false to prevent a welcome message spamming a large group upon creation/addition then adding the members to the O365 Group via Exchange Admin Center - members do not receive welcome message as expected. Adding these members via Teams client - members DO receive the welcome message, and the setting is apparently ignored. This is bad because suggested group membership practice by Microsoft is as follows:

"Best practice for managing Teams members: Add and remove members from the Teams client to ensure that the correct cascading access control to other dependent cloud applications is applied. Additionally,…

  20. Usage report filter by Team and Channel

I work and manage a support Team that uses Channels to organize support topics. Please build in the ability to measure user activity by channel.

    example:
First tier team has a question about an application and ask in the applications channel for help. Second tier team responds with the answer.

T1 now has a question about account management and they reach out in the account management channel. T2 responds.

How much does John Doe use the Apps Channel vs the Acc Mgmt channel? which topic (channel) has the most questions?
