  1. Granular bot and tab controls based on Office 365 Groups classifications

Currently bots & tabs have one control - on or off. Many organizations must turn this option of due to data protection issues. Corporate data will be sent out of the Office 365 environment to unknown sources (bots and tabs).

What I would like to see is a granular control that allows you to enable bots & tabs for Teams that have specific Office 365 Groups classifications. For instance you might enable bots & tabs for "Public" or "Unrestricted" Teams but not for "internal" or "restricted" ones.

working on it  ·  Warren responded

Thank you all very much for the great response. The survey is now closed. The feature team will be reviewing all the data that was gathered and responded based on the findings.
Again, thank you for helping us make Microsoft Teams the best it can be.

  2. Admins need more control over channel email options

Currently admins can turn channel emails on/off at the tenant level, but have no visibility or control over what channels have their emails set to. I suggest admins should have a tenant-level policy that allows them to set a default channel email setting, as well as giving admins the option to prevent users from changing their channel to a different setting, requiring an admin to do it for them.

  3. Private conversation inside a Public conversation

Looking to use Teams as an internal Crowdsourcing initiative.

Is there any possibility to switch from a Public conversation (meaning that the conversation under the channel is visible to all the members of that particular group) to a Private conversation (meaning that only 2 people will be able to see it and it will be hidden for the other members)?

This should apply no matter if the users are internal or guest/external.

    Thanks,
    Stefano

  4. Disable exit notifications for channels

We need the ability to disable exit notifications on a teams channels. For example when a user is terminated and we remove their license we don't want a notification going out to everyone that the user has been removed from the team. For HR reasons we want to communicate a persons termination through email, rather than have people get immediate notifications before we have the chance to communicate clearly with our team. Having the option to turn this post off would be ideal.

  5. Teams Archiving PowerShell Commands

We would like functionality in PowerShell to check the archive status of a Team and also to be able to set the status.

For example as we’d like to programmatically change a Team to archived if it hasn’t been accessed in 6 months. It should also change the SharePoint site to read only for the members as it does in the Teams UI.

  6. Ability to determine inactive users

It would be good to have a quick and easy way for Admins and more importantly owners of Teams to quickly see anyone that is not really making use of the Team or contributing to it and therefore make an informed decision as to whether or not to remove them.

  8. Option to not save 1:1 chat history.

It is sometimes a strict business requirement that 1:1 chat history not be saved. We need to be able to set, by policy, an option to not allow the saving of chat history for 1:1 IM conversations. The new retention policies are a start, but do not go far enough in addressing this requirement. If I missed something and this is possible in PowerShell somehow, then I apologize, but this is a critical business requirement.

  10. Need the opportunity to unmute all participants on the meeting.

An Admin setting needs to be available so when a meeting is set up you can opt to un-mute all participants who join and give them the option of muting themselves. Also, the meeting owners need the ability to unmute participants.

  11. Limit Org Wide Teams to actual users with licenses

When we create an Org-Wide team it adds every "user" account in our entire Active Directory into the team. Thsi includes service accounts, exchange heal mailboxes, and all kinds of things that aren't actual people. There needs to be an option so that we can choose to only invite actual users. If it can point to an OU, we can specify our "employees" out to rule out all the non-users. If it's limited to AD Online, then it could only add people who have an actual Office 365 license attached to their account. Every time we create a service account,…

  12. prevent renaming Teams for owners

We try to keep a naming convention for Teams in our business. However, if Team Owners are able to rename their teams, we can not keep the naming convention

  13. Securty Issue - Add a TouchID (fingerprint) / PIN Code lock for the app

Currently the application will not ask for credentials after the initial sign-in (even if the user signs out via options, clears cache or even reinstalls the app).
The only thing needed in order to gain access to the app is the email address of the user (which is relatively easy to find elsewhere on the device when not locked).
Pretty much all other applications will allow the user to add a touchID or PIN authentication to further secure the app (Outlook, OneDrive, SFB, etc.)

While the app leverages the authentication token used by all other apps on the device, this…

  14. Link Teams to existing SharePoint site

At our office we're using Teams for parts of our Project execution, we use it to communicate, collect information, share files, compare notes, create a wiki, etc.

At the same time we have Project Online, with a registration of the same projects. We use that for our deliverables, time- and projectmanagement. But also for information gathering (as we do in Teams).

How awsome would it be when I integrate some of the Teams features into the corresponding Project site. And Share the library, and the OneNote.

Now we use two libraries (one for Teams and one for Project) and we…

  15. Add moderated public team (request to join) as an option besides public and private

It would be good to have a third option when creating a team besides 'private' and 'public'.
Private means member editor access only, but also makes the team not discoverable for interested people who are not a member, and then could request to join.
Public means the team and it's content is open to anyone on the tenant.
For organisations with specific BU's who would like to be discoverable for non-team membersb(thus needs to be public), but only allow memership (join) after a request (moderated membership).
There could actually be 2 types of moderated teams:
    1. Public and moderated where…

  16. Allow permissions to channels only within a team

Could you create a way for permissions to be set for users to contribute to selected channels within a team. We have a team created where we want certain people to only have access to certain channels. Currently you can only set permissions to the team itself.

  17. Allow sorting by column and export to excel in new Teams Admin Center

I like the new interface of the Manage Teams page. Please add sort options on columns (Channels, Members, etc.) and the ability to export to excel.

  18. Option to disable banner while still receiving notification

We would like to have an option that disables the pop-up notification but still allows the icon to blink on the taskbar, like Skype or Skype for Business.
Currently we only have the option to have the pop-up banners which are intrusive on a single screen setup, or to disable them completely.

  19. Setup auto/manual cleanup of unknown users

As users come and go from the organization, the teams are being left with orphaned "Unknown User" in the list of members. There should be an admin function or scheduled cleanup to remove these orphaned users from the team membership. I understand their old posts will say Unknown User and you can't change that, but at least clean up the user membership list. It would be great if the name of the poster was not dynamic and tied to a profile, so that historical posts would still say the name of the poster. Maybe you can add the name of…

  20. Time limit for editing/deleting posts

We would need an admin setting to set a time limit for how long users should be able to edit/delete their posts/conversations.
Owner should be able to delete without a limit but members should be able to edit/delete for example for only 15 minutes.
