Please remove the automatic minimize feature on the Mac version
Please remove the automatic minimize feature on the Mac version. Very annoying. Happens when the app hasn't been accessed in a certain amount of time but we still need it to remain open.

Teams should auth automatically with stored creds on Macs
Teams seems to store my credentials in my login keychain, whether I check the box directing it to do so, or not. It asks me to reauthenticate on a regular basis, and when it does so, it uses the keychain entry to fill the username and password fields for me, which makes the only remaining manual task the act of clicking the Submit button. Why? I'd prefer an option to configure automatic submission.

Add a progress bar to downloads
Please add a progress bar in the Downloads/Files section. There is no way for me to know how far a download is and as you can imagine, downloading big files doesn't add to the overall user experience. I'm really trying to like this app... But the limited features just doesn't compare to competitors like Slack who design for users, not business.

Teams interrupts active window
When Teams runs in the background it randomly becomes active. e.g.: I have Teams open and I'm writing in word document. Suddenly while typing teams is active and my input goes into teams not into word anymore.

Do not display over full screen apps in MacOS
When using Mail.app or other apps in full screen, sometimes Teams will pop up over the full screen app. Honestly, I don't know how you even do it, but it comes with all sorts of usability problems. Like not knowing how to move the windows to another desktop.
Really, you should be using standard MacOS window behavior for everything. Teams is the odd man out at the moment.

Teams for Mac OS: allow for a (new) main window to be opened/created
The current Microsoft Teams has its main window disappear on me at least daily (and I'm not sure why that happens). The only way to get it back is to quit Teams and re-launch it.
Having a way to "File - New - Main Window" would be fabulous (short of figuring out why that main window goes away of course). This "Main window" exists for Outlook already.

Please stop request to "Add Helper" Popups on the Mac.
There is no indication on what the Helper does or what why I need to add the Helper. For all I know, I can be installing a virus.

iPad share
when doing MS team Meeting with the iMac or macbook, the participant would be able to share screen of the apps on their iPad or even use the whiteboard function on the iPad.
the current MS teams on mac or even windows platform does not allow for such function.
it's either we start our MS team meeting on an iPad to show the apps.. OR use the MS teams on the mac but limited to the share function it's integrated with.29 votes -
add external team members
Currently you can't add external team members to Teams on a Mac.....of if you can it is so unintuitive that I can't find it. Please make it easy to add external people into your team.

Make notifications work on Mac wihtout teams running
I'd like Notifications to work on Mac when I don't have the Teams app open. Maybe that Teams Helper app could run in the background as a daemon even when Teams.app isn't open.
I hacked it into working by making a second copy of the Teams app and adding <key>LSUIElement</key><true/> to the Info.plist file inside the package contents. Now I can always run the 'background' copy to get notifications with no dock icon and open the original Teams app when I want to use the interface.

Mac OS Open App at Login
Mac OS Open Teams at Login
Normally in Mac OS (currently Sierra 10.12.4), applications can be added to items to open at login (System Preferences>Users & Groups>Login Items). We have noticed that Microsoft Teams does not open after login when this is configured. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions would be appreciated. Thanks!26 votes -

Shortcuts interfere with OSX bound shortcuts
The Alt-E button in The Netherlands is standard bound to a "´" symbol, therefor in a message-inputfield you can't use that button to jump to the "find person/team" field because it will then type that character.

Application preferences on Mac
There are no application preferences on the Mac desktop app. I would like to be able to configure both the location for downloaded files, and the font & size for usability reasons. (I'm sure there are others.)
The standard hotkey is Cmd-comma (','). Preferences are normally presented in a separate window, though some applications like Google Chrome show preferences in a new tab instead, which would be acceptable in this case.
Please add a preferences tab or window, and include both download location preference (like Slack does), and font settings.

Teams Meeting Causes My New MacBook Pro to Overheat
Only when I use Teams Meeting (not Live Event), my Macbook Pro runs very hot and forces the internal fans to run at maximum. This happens whether I'm connected with 1 other person or many. The only way to fix this is to minimize the window and I get a thumbnail size image of just the active speaker. Then, the Macbook stays cools and the fans run minimally. This just started happening with the latest major update of Teams. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem persists. My Macbook is dual boot, so I'm able to check…

After update on MAC - notifications are missed
There have been many times where teams has updated while it’s been minimized on my machine, causing me to not see any new messages until the next time I’ve manually re-opened and logged in again.
22 votesThe feedback I have received is that this issue is directly related to modern authentication.
If your company is not using modern auth’ the Teams app will force you to relog after updates, which causes you to miss notifications.
Instructions on how to setup modern authentication can be found at – https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/msi-deployment
