  1. Fix blurry font rendering on Mac

The font rendering in Mac Teams is different from other mac apps and makes it difficult to read text, especially if working with a lower resolution external screen.

  3. Remove the "hidden" Window for notifications on Mac OSX

Currently when I click on the Window menu item, there is a permanent option in the list for "Microsoft Teams Notification". I assume if you used MacOSX notifications instead this may not be necessary. Is there some way to remove this otherwise? It doesn't actually do anything when you click on it.

  4. spacebar ≠ download

Why would pressing the spacebar mean I want to download a file? In Finder on Mac, spacebar loads a quick preview of the file, so the Teams use of the spacebar is very odd, unexpected, and not at all useful.

  5. Add a progress bar to downloads

Please add a progress bar in the Downloads/Files section. There is no way for me to know how far a download is and as you can imagine, downloading big files doesn't add to the overall user experience. I'm really trying to like this app... But the limited features just doesn't compare to competitors like Slack who design for users, not business.

  6. Mac: While Sharing Screen, allow interaction with Mac's Top Menu Bar

This is less on an idea and more of just an issue: I was sharing my entire screen yesterday, had unpinned Microsoft Team's screen shot menu, and wanted to access some menu items in another application. But every time I moved my cursor to the Apple Menu area, the menu for Teams appeared. I had to stop sharing in order to access the menu items for that application (then reshare again to continue demoing). Please allow me to interact with the normal Mac Menu Bar while sharing my screen with Teams.

  7. After update on MAC - notifications are missed

There have been many times where teams has updated while it’s been minimized on my machine, causing me to not see any new messages until the next time I’ve manually re-opened and logged in again.

  8. Need prompt before updating on MAC

Every time there is an update for the desktop client (at least on Mac) the client updates automatically without prompting the user, which always seems to invalidate the session. There should be an option to prompt the user before the client is updated. (similar to how VS Code does it, perhaps)

  9. respect mac window placement

Leave the Teams app in the window I place it, don't move around when I switch to different workspaces.

  11. Edit PowerPoint using Office Apps not just edit Online Powerpoint in MS Team apps

Currently, MS teams app allows you to edit powerpoint using the Edit Powerpoint Online option. We have many people using Team in their MAC PC.

  12. Persistence and Notifications trouble on iOS/macOs

For iOS/macOS desktop - data doesn’t persist for all messages. While in a menu i see too old messages, and after I enter a conversation - another pack of newer messages are loaded on fly so I need to scroll down to look at newest ones . Also there’s troubles with notifications many of which don’t appear at all

  13. CMD+Tab on macOS does not bring main window up

When switching between programs on the Mac the CMD+Tab keys will switch to the Teams Program - but the main window is often minimized. I either have to click the program on the Launcher or go via the Window menu.

  15. Use standard Mac keyboard shortcuts

There are many apps like Teams where hitting the return key after entering text "posts" the text in whatever way makes sense for the app. The Mac standard is to type option-return to insert a newline into the message (since just return does something else). Teams uses shift-return instead. I wish that Teams would use the Mac standard.

  16. stop minimizing mac app

Stop minimizing the app. Seriously. If I want to minimize it, that's what the system button is for. Just leave the Teams window where I put it.

  17. mac graphic

Teams Helper usually trigger the discrete graphic card on Macs with dual graphic cards. This leads to higher energy consumption.
Could you please stick to the integrated graphic card in all cases?

  18. Making it more collaborative with the app Magnet

I'm using Magnet (a screen split app), but the app doesn't split enough to use it on a standard Macebook 13.3 inch. It says it cannot be smaller, but there is still room left to make the app smaller (on a half screen Macbook)

  19. Application preferences on Mac

There are no application preferences on the Mac desktop app. I would like to be able to configure both the location for downloaded files, and the font & size for usability reasons. (I'm sure there are others.)

The standard hotkey is Cmd-comma (','). Preferences are normally presented in a separate window, though some applications like Google Chrome show preferences in a new tab instead, which would be acceptable in this case.

Please add a preferences tab or window, and include both download location preference (like Slack does), and font settings.
