  1. Attach to thread with ^

In the main text box, typing ^ as the first character should attach the message to the latest thread as a reply, ^^ would attach to the one before it.

The attachment should happen upon typing the character, so as to prevent the a last second thread from being started just before you post your message.

  2. client auto update

How does the teams desktop client auto update in an enterprise environment? My management is concerned in a ~10K user environment if everyone signed on at the same time in the morning and a client update is available, that it will saturate our ISP connection if 10k folks are trying to pull an 80mb update package. Can you please describe how this mitigated? delivery optimization like Windows 10 can achieve for its updates? or randomized updating of the clients to not all update at once?

  5. macOS native keyboard shortcut is overridden

macOS has its native keyboard shortcuts that are helpful for text editing. However, some of them doesn't work on Microsoft Teams.

    • Control-A: Move to the beginning of the line or paragraph.

    • DOESN'T work. Instead, all texts are selected (the same as Command-A)

    • Control-B: Move one character backward.

    • DOESN'T work. Instead, selected texts become bold (the same as Command-B)

Control-A is quite important for me because it is the very common shortcut in Linux/Unix environments. Refer "Moving faster" section on this link for the details.

For all native keyboard shortcuts on macOS, please refer the following official document.

  6. Utility for record desktop screen and share in a Channel without a group meeting

This utility is for make a record from Desktop and voice, and share in a Channel.
My users prefer to use Loom software and this is a unsecure way.
    The ideal utility can be:
    1. Start a new recorder
    2. Save the record in Stream channel vinculated with the Team/channel
    3. Share the llink in the channel and also allow to watch the video directly from teams.

    What you think?

    Regards!

  7. Support for Citrix and RDS Environments

Support for the desktop Teams application to be installed directly into Program Files and not into the users AppData.

Currently this method is not viable for a RDS environment such as Citrix or Horizon View.

  8. Plain text paste

So, according to your website ( https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/32640124-ctrl-shift-v-to-paste-clipboard-content-unformatte#{togglepreviousstatuses} ) the problem has been resolved as of desktop build 1.1.00.252.

So, I check for upgrades and Teams says I have the latest version ("You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.1.00.19257 (64-bit). It was last updated on 8/3/18.")

So, how can I have the latest versoin of .19257 but you website says is was fixed in version 252 on · January 12, 2018.

Who's running the show at Teams? You might want to get your left and right hands to talk to each other.

I'll bet the vast majority of users would…

  9. There needs to be an alert to indicate new items added.

Within the desktop version, there is no indication that new items have been added to review... or new comments

The only communication is via email this would really improve the usage of teams

  10. Consolidate Headers

Get rid of the additional header when viewing a file (pdf, excel, word) and not editing. This hogs a ton of screen space, even in the 'expanded tab' view and does not add any value to the experience.

    Screenshot for clarification.

  11. Please stop TEAMS from opening automatically every time I open my computer.

I don't want TEAMS to open automatically EVERY time I open the computer. I want to be in charge of when it opens.

  12. Notifications are gone

Notifications are gone since the new update.

Possible because teams is set to 'busy' by default after a couple of minutes.

  13. Navigate to downloaded file by clicking the "item downloaded" box

If you click the "Downloaded" popup on the bottom right a window should open bringing you to the item in Windows explorer.

This isn't complicated. Teams literally opens the downloads folder when that popup is clicked. Now you just need to have it highlight the item that was downloaded.

  14. hover

    Hover Options

I suggest moving or removing the hover options on chat messages. The problem with them is that when you hover over the message, you can no longer highlight the covered-up portion of the message - which is a problem if you're trying to copy and paste something out of the chatbox, especially on shorter messages.

  15. Local version for the To-Do application.

Although To-do is integrated with Outlook, it would be simpler to use the tool if a local version, such as the Teams and Onenote applications, was installed in the machine.

  17. We really need "Paste as plain text" in the Teams desktop client

Please add a "Paste as plain text" option to the right-click menu in all text areas in the Teams desktop client that accept formatted text.

  18. Stop asking to download the client in the browser version

Please add the option to disable the notification to download the client when opening Teams in a web browser, ask the first time, but also have an option to select not to be asked again.

  20. Allow

Allow file links (https://teams.microsoft.com/#/files/<linktofile>) to open in Desktop client when installed. This already works for channel links (https://teams.microsoft.com/l/channel/<linkto_channel>)
