The problem is this, in short: Our conference room audio system is a permanently installed speaker and microphone array spanning 2 rooms and is separate from my computer and requires us to DIAL IN to Teams meetings bridge to join a meeting. When I dial in to start a meeting from a wired telephone, and put in MY PIN, I need it to tie that presence to MY account reliably instead of showing 2 different meeting attendees in the meeting attendee list; one for my actual account, and one for the number I dialed in from. The reason it cannot work as it does now is that when I speak it activates the dial-in presence Tile with no webcam, but I need it to activate my tile so that it'll auto-switch to my webcam for all other participants.

If I use (a competitor) and dial in to start a meeting with the PIN, then join from my PC, it treats all of it as a single participant, not 2 different participants, and I need that same behavior in Teams so that it manages/shows my webcam correctly when it senses that I'm speaking.

Steps to reproduce:
I dial into a previously un-started meeting from an old-school standard wired telephone using dial-in info and MY PIN to initiate the meeting specifically AS ME.

I then connect from my Windows Desktop Teams App using MY OWN ACCOUNT, which also is ME.

Now that I'm in the meeting, I have TWO different attendee tiles that represent ME, my normal tile with picture and name, and another tile showing the phone number I dialed in from.
Tile1 is just the phone number that I dialed in from. It usually shows the phone number as the tile image
Tile2 is my regular tile showing my name and picture, actually representing me. It never "lights" up as the active speaker because I've DIALED IN to the meeting and that voice connection is not associated with me, it's a completely different entity in the meeting. Since that other phone number tile lights up when I talk instead of my real tile, Teams never auto-switches other peoples video view to show my active webcam feed because it never thinks I'm the one talking, instead the phone number tile lights up and my webcam feed is never brought into the active conversation.

I can't see the status of all our users at one time in Teams. Skype was a management tool you took away without warning, replacing it with a tool that does not offer the same functionality. I am a small business owner, happy with the functionality we had.Why couldn't Microsoft anticipate a need for this feature (aren't all the features of their software documented?) and make sure it was in Teams before they forced us to switch? Why does Microsoft constantly force their users to do whatever they want, rather than allowing the users to do what they want? It's infuriating, wastes our time, and makes us realize that Microsoft solutions are unreliable and dangerous for businesses that do not have the resources to stay informed and prepare for all the changes that Microsoft is constantly deploying.

I think you need to approach the status indicator in teams differently. This is a feature that is very important and I don't think it's getting enough attention or focus.

For example, it takes up to 5 minutes to show teams as "away" even if your computer is locked. If it is locked, you should immediately be shown as "away". Usually by the time someone will show as away (going to the bathroom or at a meeting) a lot of the time, I won't even know they were away until they have gotten back.

This brings up another issue. The rate at which statuses change and teams is notified that another team is away is abysmal. I shouldn't have to switch tabs in order to update changed statuses. Can't you have the teams users subscribe to updates from contacts or something and update them instantly?
