  3. Add option to make emoticons smaller or be turned off

Would like the ability to turn off all emoticons. Every chat application I've ever used (Skype, Lync, Slack, Hipchat) allow this option. Or/and make the emoticons smaller.

It would also be nice to have the option to minimize an emoji or resize an emoji within the chat feed once a user has posted it. Currently ‘edit’ or ‘delete’ is available per message, possiblly if ‘minimize’ or ‘collapse’ option would make this possible? This would enable the viewer of the feed to create their own visual experience/not have to look at emoji if they don’t want to.

The ability to turn off emojis is still being worked upon.

Also, there is work to create a compact mode which will also help reduce white space… which in turn will impact some of the complaints are far as wasted space from the emojis as well, that have been voiced in the comments.

    Stay tuned for more details.

  5. add the Party Parrot emojis

Please add more emojis. For example
    Add the onion emoji.
    Add the poop emoji.
Add a “curtsy” emoji to compliment the “bow”.
Bring the fistbump emoji over from Skype into Teams.
Add the Party Parrot emoji collection.
Add emojis that relay more positive messages (most seem negative).
    Add flags emoji collection.
    Add “canyoutalk” emoji from Skype.
Add medical-themed emojis for those who work in the medical field.

  7. Ability to hide or minimize gifs (at user level)

I like a lot about Teams. However, one of the nice features of your main competitor is that on things like GIFs you can minimize them. GIFs are fun, but after the initial fun they are annoying to keep seeing auto playing in the feed. So a way to minimize them in the feed would be great.

  8. Allow for randomized giphy selection using a shortcut.

We're supposed to be working... so selecting the perfect Giphy is a bit of a distraction. Allowing for a randomized Giphy selection (based on keyword) by using a shortcut is something your competition offers, and is missed dearly by our team. Part of the fun was/is being surprised by what pops up.

  9. Add ability to react to posts (with multiple emojis)

We need the ability to react to posts with emojis. The full suite of emojis should be available. Any person should be able to react with multiple emjois per post.

  10. Use well-known names (short codes) for emoticons/emoji

Amongst others, Github and Slack use a common naming schema for emoji. Teams has a different naming schema for at least part of the emoji set, for example:
":ok_hand:" - not present in Teams
":disappointed:" - can't even be typed, as soon as ":d" is typed it becomes a Skype emoticon

Please use a common naming convention that a lot of people have already gotten used to.

  11. Support native system emoji

For consistency it would be nice to see the operating system's natively rendered emoji font. W10 Anniversary has great emoji that fit the Microsoft design style very well.

Please add functionality to translate direct links to gifs into the gif itself. Slack has this.

  15. Add keyboard shortcut for gifs

Easily like half the reason I even use Slack is how easy it is to insert a gif. Having to physically click on that stupidly small gif button in Teams and then having to wait forever as all the gif options load up really slows the conversation down. Add a keyboard shortcut PLEASE

  16. Improve Giphy library!

Giphy keyboards on other business comm apps have amuch more extensive library if gifs as well as a much better search feature (i.e. Slack)

Please improve the giphy keyboard - we all love using it but the Teams one is quite unuseful!

  17. Change how emojis render

Currently the rendered emojis look horrid with the non-stop gif like animation. Can we have emojis like how slack does them? Clean render, without animating them.

  18. Larger GIF Previews

Once the GIFs button is selected, allow that window to either be resized, or make the GIF preview window along with the GIFs themselves bigger so we can actually read the text on the GIFs that are displayed.

  20. Disable giphy, stickers, and memes per channel

There should be settings per channel which would allow / disallow use of Giphy, stickers and memes per channel (not just per team).

This would allow a channel for general silliness and another where people are not allowed to post stickers/memes/giphy.

We are seeing that a project can quickly be derailed when a few people start posting memes in the middle of serious discussions to express themselves. While I agree that there's a time and place and those people should be more disciplined, it would be better to restrict those things per channel, so a serious conversation in a particular…
