  1. conversation more like messages. currently feels like a forum making it clunky to search.

Take a look at phone message or how What's app handles messages for individual messages. Currently feels like the 1990 fourms, instead of flowing well.

  7. Chat panel should open by default when in a meeting

People often have difficulty finding it or realizing there's chat. The icon is nearly invisible.

  9. Setting to stop Rolling Up Conversations / Hiding Chats

I hate the fact that conversations get rolled-up / hidden I.E. "28 replies from Foo and Bar". Could you please introduce a setting to turn this off?

  10. Re-opening on Update

I use multiple Windows Desktops. One of them holds 'communication' apps (Teams, Outlook, Internal ticketing). Teams does a dozen updates to itself in a day and re-starts itself. When this happens, Teams opens in whatever desktop I've got open which requires me to push it back to my communication desktop. Very annoying! Can it remember where it was (ie which Desktop) and re-open there?

  12. More user friendly for work

Teams would be better if the user could have Teams open on top of other apps. This would allow us to use teams as messenger without having to stop doing a task, close a window, open Teams and then repeat by going back to task #1. It is better on mobile - mainly bc the use case for mobile is more straight forward. Thanks!

  13. Notify once on Android

When Teams on Android regains internet access after a period without, chat notifications are played in serial. If the user is in a conversation where many messages have been sent while they were offline, Teams will emit a notification appropriately once every second for every message.

The result is a stream of long and annoying notifications.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Join a chat (direct chat, not a team)
    2. User 1 places phone in airplane mode.
    3. User 2 sends many messages to user 1
    4. User 1 turns off airplane mode. Should see many notifications

    Proposed Solution: aggregate multiple…

  14. roll down

    Wrap and unwrap discussions
Is it possible to make room on the screen by "wrapping" or "rolling" up conversations/discussions ?

  16. Make the headers in xlsx / ppt file viewer smaller

The big headers with the file name and the start conversation / close buttons and the one with the excel online logo and the file name take about 20% of the real estate on my screen and are basically worthless. Can you merge those two and make them smaller? Might not be an issue on big screens but I'm working on a small laptop and it makes working in the viewer harder than it has to be

  18. Add column which lists threads topics more like email chains

Something about the Teams organizational methodology always bothered me, but couldn’t put my finger on why until I came across Twist by Todoist. They provide one additional column where threads are clearly separated by topic (just like Outlook) so replies don’t get buried in the endless stream of group chat.

I believe the channel concept is a good one, but having all threads updated live in one place is very chaotic and distracting. Separating by topic calms this down, lets a user consume that topic with more focus, and presents a UX that is more email-like and therefor very familiar.

  19. Sign in versus Log in

Generally, Office 365 uses 'Sign in' or 'Sign out'. For consistency sake, would you update Teams with 'Sign out' instead of 'Log in'/'Log out'.

  20. Move the People tab to an icon on the left bar.

It is not intuitive at all to have to write the name of the person and not have any result showing. We found out later that you have to hit enter, then the people tab shows up and THEN, you can see the results of your search. If you do not relocate the tab, at least let the people show when you search for them.

P.s.: People will show if you already talked to them, which is still not intuitive for a SEARCH bar.
