It is annoying to have to click on the “New Messages” button or scroll down manually when new messages arrive. The suggestion here is to keep scrolling down to bottom and to provide a button to jump back to last unread message.2,092 votes
It appears this issue is still happening based on some additional threads. Please provide feedback in the comments if you are still experiencing this issue.
The "reply" button is WAY too large under each message. I recommend either making the button just a smaller icon and off to the side of a message, or only showing it on hover.1,500 votes
We got a flood of feedback in research not to eliminate this button completely, but to minimize it. So you’ll see a design change soon that makes the Reply button a little bit less conspicuous.
Let me know if you have any questions!
If there was an Outlook tab integrated on the left, similar to the Meetings tab (which is effectively the Outlook calendar), one could stay in Teams all day and not have to switch out.1,439 votes
Slash commands for just about every type of function are a must have. They are familiar and easy to use without having to touch your mouse, they are UI-agnostic. Admittedly not terribly discoverable – but the UI is even worse, as their is no real option for auto-completion of UI elements, now is there?1,227 votes
Here is a little update about the /slash command feature we are working on.
They will be usable without switching context. For example, when I wanted to add a file I could just type /files within my current chat and I was presented with a window to find the recent files I used as well as an option search for a file to add. Or when I needed to initiate a call, I could type /call to start a call with the people currently in the chat I was using. There are many more commands as well that will soon be ready for use!
Stay tuned! -Warren
Teams is way to cluttered when you have several chats. It is difficult to see new messages when they come in. I like a very clean and simple tool and if you could manage options that let you delete threads and also that would let you choose to clear all activity and history upon closing the App that would be great. As it is I have a bunch on inactive threads that are always in the activity list and they are old and not active any longer. Other than this I really like the UI and the functions of the Teams App just want to be able to clear all the junk when I want to.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the current decision is to not allow the deleting of chat threads. However the ability to hide chats will soon be released.
To access it you will simply click the “…” overflow menu from the left rail, on the chat you wish to mute. A fly-out will appear allowing you to either Favorite, Mute, Hide, or Leave the chat. Look for this by the end of the calendar year!

We had some resource constraints so we’ve had to stop work on this and move it to the backlog. Work should resume in the winter.
pressing the up arrow when the custor is in the compose box, it will edit the user's last message.696 votes
If it is acting sporadic for you, please email me your logs and I’ll get the guys to look at it.

While there's an indication of the user that's actively typing in the Chat area, I'd like to have this in the Teams area as well627 votes
Hi everyone! Many of you had emailed me when we rolled out “show user actively typing” in the chat area, that you’d like this in the channels area too. I’ve merged the tickets together to help you build support for this idea, and I’ve also sent it into engineering for a review.
Keep submitting your thoughts on this item and encouraging others to vote. Its a great idea.
Mobile working, Asynchronous working of teams is a common phenomena. Read receipts let us know if the message has been seen, so we know it can be acted on. Critical when large numbers of the team are mainly mobile workers.571 votes
Sadly, work on this has stopped and been reprioritized. It is on the backlog for now.
I’m sorry folks! I’ll continue to include this in my internal reporting as a highly requested user item.
Guys, please add pinned items for channels. We often pin important articles/messages/files so that the whole team can see it. Very important!465 votes
Would be nice to make it possible to post pictures directly into a Team channel form anywhere (browser, files, etc)405 votes
Thanks everyone who has flagged this as a bug. Can you give me more info? If you have your user logs, please email them to me at email@example.com.
Thank you for helping us make Teams better and better!
Allow any text to be selected and a hyperlink added to it, both using Ctrl+K (standard across Office applications) and by providing a hyperlink button in the expanded compose box.386 votes
It’s getting close! Soon we will be releasing the ability to clean up hyperlinks in chat. When you expand the compose box in chat, you will then be able to select text within your chat and make it a hyperlink by clicking the hyperlink icon. This will allow you to then edit both the display text of the hyperlink and the link itself! This feature is planned to release by the end of the calendar year! -Warren
IMPROVE actual markdown:
Disable auto-formatting of markdown
*italic* not *bold* or _italic_
Make it the SAME as GITHUB
which is closer to DaringFireball
IMPROVE for mobile:
Please add markdown support for Android client.
IMPROVE for other languages:
Currently the code formatting doesn't work for german keyboard users due to the system expecting another character after the `
Due to that, Teams does not recognize the ` and interprets it as any other character.
I think that needs to change.350 votes
We’re fixing bugs identified in the comments, and other user reports we’ve received around markdown, but we’ve decided we’re not going to fundamentally change our markdown support.
This is the first time we’ve declined a request, and it didn’t come easily. We weighed this against other important features we’re working on to deliver and we had to make some tough choices.
Really appreciate your understanding on this, and please feel free to ping me if you have any questions, complaints, or need to rant.
Provide an option to include chat history when you add new person to a group chat326 votes
I just used this new feature myself, the other day. It works great! You should see it soon once it gets out of our internal testing.
There should be an option to create a link to a conversation, thus enabling pinging of folks with a direct link, requesting their inputs.323 votes
This is ALMOST done. I just tried the feature out myself today and it works beautifully.
Will let you know once it ships!
I was surprised that conversations within Teams doesn't show up inside the conversation thread in Outlook Groups. Please consider at least connecting the "General" channel with the Outlook Conversation.272 votes
Current when @Tagging someone you have to type @PartOfTheirName then wait for the dialog to pop up, then hit tab or enter click the desired name (Person, Channel, Team). If you fail to use the dialog the @Tag fails to work even if you match the name perfectly.
What we'd like to see is typing @Name or @ChannelName or @TeamName just works even without using the dialog.263 votes
I'd love to keep groups/channels in my list, but mute a channel so I don't get those. I get notified whenever some tags a channel eg @General, it's super distracting!
Also would like the possibility to mute a group chat, so no sound or mobile notification should be received for a user that chooses to mute some group chat.228 votes
We’ve listened and the ability to mute a chat will soon be released! To access it you will simply click the “…” overflow menu from the left rail, on the chat you wish to mute. A fly-out will appear allowing you to either Favorite, Mute, Hide, or Leave the chat.
Look for this early in the new calendar year! -Warren
