  1. Stop forcing the automatic creation of a team site whenever you create a new Teams

This is one of the most frustrating issues we've faced using Teams and SharePoint. When you create a new Teams, a SharePoint team site is automatically created in the background, used for storing any attachments you upload in Teams. You have no control to configure this team site when it's created, no ability to prevent it happening, and if you wanted a Communications site instead of a team site this isn't even possible. No option to choose the site's URL either.

On so many occasions we've wanted to create a Teams channel but not have a team site linked to…

Support 3rd party audio conferencing provider (ACP) integration with MS Teams

Statement "...MS Teams does not support 3rd-party Audio Conferencing Providers (ACPs)."

    Here is my position:

I am upset with the tactic which forces us to use Microsoft Audio Conferencing for Teams PSTN dial in capabilities . With Skype for Business, I could integrate a 3rd party audio conference provider. All my existing conferencing numbers would work. The Global Network Architecture created for us could remain in place. No workflow changes to end/users.

In Teams, I will be forced to use the MS Audio Conferencing service if I want that…

  3. No internet chats, screen shares, ect....

When no internet is available (airplane, remote areas, ect) allow connection to another Teams member PC nearby for screen share, chat, ect for collaboration. Wifi? Bluetooth?

  4. Meetings, working on documents and chats must be able to seperate or productivity is greatly impacted.

Deploying Teams to enterprise users, I hear the frustration of not being able to spread the communications onto separate screens as separate efforts. Example: Bounce a Meeting into another window, while being able to chat with a colleague NOT in the meeting and collaborating on yet a third effort (Editing a document) all at the same time. This is a common pain point pushing users to resist Teams adoption.

  5. Sharepoint contacts integration

The contacts could appear in Teams if the user is member of a Sharepoint with a contact list.

This can be pretty useful to make Teams the indispensable to day by day work and also really handy. Also integrate the possibility of update it from Teams itself.

  6. third-party chat clients (e.g. pidgin)

Other chat programs (Slack, Cisco Webex, Google Hangouts) allow third-party clients, typically over XMPP. Can we have an XMPP port on the Teams server?

  7. Improve Teams to Skype for Business Interoperability

I realize Skype for Business is planning on being deprecated. While this is fine on paper, the reality is many companies will continue to use SfB and even Lync on-premise, so the Interoperability between Teams and SfB needs to be improved, or there will be issues. Currently, we are not able to send files or screen-share between the two clients, and those alone would be deal-breakers for companies that aren't switching to Teams anytime soon.

  8. Stop to splash in your face old notices of several old dates. Is very annoying and unnecessary, and loss of time at work.

  9. custom url h

Can you please enable support for custom URL protocols ?

We have applications registered as URL protocol handlers that utilise custom URL's sent from those applications for easy navigation

so for eg when a user receives the URL

    starflow://localhost/event=showDocument&documentId=2231381
...and clicks on it, the action is handled by the registered URL protocol handler app

These custom URL's are already supported in Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT and One Note....as well as many other Windows/Mac applications...so why not TEAMS ?

    Thanks

  10. Federation with the Matrix Protocol

I know there are already a lot of requests for federation. This is a different type of request though, as it is more specific:

Similar to how true email federation uses open source federated protocols like IMAP, SMTP, POP3, true federated banquet style chat applications should also use open source federated protocols to allow other clients & hosts.

The Matrix protocol (which is managed by a non-profit organization) is the most popular way to do this. I would love if Microsoft Teams added support for this to allow it to truly replace email, and communicate with customers, vendors, etc. that…

  11. copy and paste from Word to Teams works (but slow), but not Teams to Word?

I can copy and paste a word document with text and a graphics to Teams, and that works fine. But I cannot copy and paste the same conversation from Teams back to Word? Teams' user interface needs serious work for consistency among Microsoft's own products. This is SO frustrating.

  12. Import / Export for data migration between tenants

At my IT company we are frequently working on Office 365 migration projects. We're also working on some merger / carve-out projects so we frquently need to move data out of tenant no 1 and re-import that data to tenant no #2.
Currently this cannot be done by the existing graph api, as there is no support to access several data like chat conversation etc.
Unfortunately, a support request answered that it's also not possible to get that from the support right now.

I'd like to request some export-team and import-team functionality

    • Export should be possible to an Azure

  13. Incident information should be posted in the Service health when the incident occurs in Teams

When Teams related incidents would occur, the information could sometimes not be shown in the affected tenants’ Service health.
I would strongly request that the incidents’ information should be always posted for the affected tenants’ Service health 100% in future.

  14. Having the ability to 'pop out' a thread much like conversations are popped out in Skype would be ideal for our team. Is this a possibility?

Our team currently uses a daily chat in Skype for communication. We are also piloting Teams. There is some reluctance to use teams for daily chat because it can get congested. Having the ability to 'pop out' a thread so that it is separated from all of the others would be ideal.

  15. Respond to Azure DevOps comments in line in linked work item cards

We use Azure DevOps extremely heavily and are already impressed with the level of integration with AzDo (that's what we call it for a short name? Maybe need something new from VSTS)

Anyway, a request from my management is that since you can receive comment cards or work item cards in a conversation in Teams, it would be nice to be able to comment a response to that work item from within Teams itself!

  16. Web Client - Internet Explorer should prompt for redirect to supported browser

Currently when someone is invited to a Teams meeting, but they do not have the full Teams client installed, and they're default browser on Windows 7 is Internet Explorer (or some other unsupported default browser) the page should detect the User Agent string and present two possible options. 1) Advise the user to open the meeting URL in a supported browser (and list them right there) or 2) Give them the option to download the Full Windows Client but note that this is for Enterprise Users and requires a license.

Current behavior simply advises the user to download the full…

Latest Android update includes work and personal profiles. Teams doesn't integrate.

  19. Add support for sharing with Microsoft To-Do

Having all MS applications; Office 365, I expect them to share data easily between them.

Today if I use the Microsoft To-Do application and choose Share, Microsoft Teams is not a support application. Granted I can copy & paste, but integration between the two apps is expected.

  20. Support Seamless SSO (Password Synchronization) for web app and Desktop app

We use Azure AD Connect in "Password Synchronization" mode and Seamless SSO activated. This works great for the Outlook Web App but does not work for Teams - neither the Teams Web App nor the Desktop client. User still need to type in their user name manually. The password is not prompted.

Please enable Seamless SSO for Teams, just like for Outlook Web App.

    Background information:
    - Seamless SSO set up according to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/connect/active-directory-aadconnect-sso-quick-start
    - We do not use any kind of federation, so this completed user voice does not apply: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16940257-sso-using-adfs-azuread
    - We start the Outlook Web App with…
