Support for Private Channels
Looking for the ability to create a channel that only channel members can see. Private channels are available in slack. There is an admin for private channels who is the creator, and they are the ones who add/remove users.
Five types of public/privacy that is being asked for by users:
- Public-Open (visible anywhere including outside the org and anyone can join)
- Public-Invitation (visible anywhere including outside the org, must be invited)
- Company-Open (only visible inside the org and anyone in the org can join; outside the org must be invited)
- Company-Invitation (only visible inside the org,…24,295 votesWe acknowledge the customer demand for Private Channels and have been hard at work on it. Private Channels is currently in preview with a select group of customers. We expect to release the feature to the public later this Fall, and will update here when we are starting to roll out to all customers. We appreciate all the feedback you have provided to us on this forum and thank you for your patience.

I want to use multiple Teams accounts at the same time
LOG INTO MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Original user posted:
I would like to heave this multi-team/tenant option within “MS Teams”, like in Slack. Currently I’m in four different organization. They’re using all office365, three of them now changed from Slack to Teams. I’ve to permanently login/logout to switch to the related MS Team. This is really time consuming.Another user says:
We need the ability to sign in with multiple accounts. Many of us have several O365 accounts for various reasons (consulting, etc), and we’d need to be able to access teams directly.
This is not a federation or B2B scenario, but…12,024 votesWe know you are patiently waiting for this feature. This feature is being implemented in stages. Fast tenant switching is currently in testing both internally and with early customers. We expect to release to the public in the Fall. I’ll post an update once it’s rolling out.
Full multi-tenant, multi-user support will be added after fast tenant switching.

Include Office 365 group calendar in teams
It would be good to be able to click on a calendar button on the left hand side to get a view of the Office 365 groups calendar as you would in the calendar app. Good for being able to look and get a glimpse of what is coming up with the group. At the moment I have to go back to the calendar to look at it.
11,514 votesThanks to everyone who volunteered for testing the Office 365 group calendar. The TAP team will be reaching out as we are closer to being ready.

Compact mode
I really like Teams. I do. But the current chat layout is not suited for professional chats. It's way to space consuming. It looks like something imported from MSN with smiley's that take half of the screen. I would say that Slack have nailed it because they focused on the ability keeping a tight window with lots of chat text visible. In Teams the window is full and starts scrolling after like 10 sentences.
11,052 votesWe’re currently working on defining a compact mode experience. I will post more details when we have more to share.

Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
10,284 votesWe acknowledge the demand for this capability and are exploring the best possible solutions to enable this.

Move channels into other teams
We would like to move a project (channel) between groups to keep the information, or be able to sort channels to our liking.
10,061 votesDue to prioritization of other work-items this has been moved to the backlog. We will update when it is being actively worked on again.

Linux client
My team has some users on Linux, and one benefit Slack has is a Linux client. Without a Linux client on Microsoft Teams, some orgs may have to turn away in favor of Slack so everyone can participate without keeping a browser open all the time.
9,601 votesWe know many of you are waiting for a Teams client for Linux, and we’re pleased to confirm we’re actively working on it. Stay tuned for more information.

Ability to archive channels
Would be nice if we had the ability to archive channels. For example: we created a channel for a specific project. Once the project is complete, we can archive that channel or at least move it out of the primary view. I could see the channel list getting large and clunky quickly with multiple projects many of which are complete.
Also, when a conversation in the channel is complete it should be archived or hidden.
8,980 votesWe are still considering this feature for future releases, and will continue to update the status when it changes.

Ability to see who is in a channel
Ability to see who is currently in a channel. Hipchat and Slack have this feature

Teams uses 600MB and is super slow!
Quotes from various users about memory usage and slow performance:
"Team is a memory hog! 100s MB! Slack is about 50."
"The memory consumption is over 300MB!!! This should be a priority."
"Just started evaluating teams, 500+ MB and 10-15% CPU. This is in a citrix VDI. Does teams use hardware rendering? If so is there a way to turn it off? I had to do this with the rest of Office."
"I dont understand why my Teams application only uses 70MB when other people in my organization are towards half a gig! What is causing this Teams?"
"Make it…
6,958 votesPerformance has been and continues to be a big focus area for Teams. One main area we have made improvements in is responsiveness for the most frequent user actions of switching between Chat, Channel, and Activity. We are also focused on reducing resource consumption and application load time. More improvements are on the way.

Move conversations to different channels
If a conversation is started in one channel but gains importance to the point where the conversation deserves its own channel. Or a conversation was started in the wrong channel and needs to be moved

Access to email from left tab panel
If there was an Outlook tab integrated on the left, similar to the Meetings tab (which is effectively the Outlook calendar), one could stay in Teams all day and not have to switch out.
5,274 votesThe feature team is still reviewing, there is lots of discussion about this item and I hope to have a decision soon.

Integrate fully with Planner, Sharepoint, and Outlook Tasks, Calendar
Please integrate more with Planner (hopefully soon with Kanban and timeline visualisation channels for tasks) and/or with sharepoint web parts that do this, so all tasks linked in one place. And Outlook as well (for calendar and emails pertinent to chats and tasks). Until then in effect Teams is yet just another tool to use that is not completely integrated for communication + coordination.
5,246 votesThis is still being worked upon. I hope to have more details in the next couple months.
Please know the team is actively working on this feature.

Bring Back The Clippy Sticker Messaging Pack
Please bring back the Clippy Sticker Messaging Pack for Teams. It was a really fun sticker pack that brought back the nostalgia of a favorite Microsoft mascot in a new and fun way!
4,965 votesClippy is flattered by all the attention but plans to continue his retirement.

Allow drag and drop from Outlook directly to Teams
Dragging and dropping attachments directly from the e-mail window without having to first drag them onto the desktop (for instance) and them from there dragging them to the files tab in Teams would make many lives so much easier.
There are a few suggestions to enable drag and dropping, but it seems that it is already working, at least with the desktop client, but making that work directly from an e-mail window would be very nice.

Rename of Team Channel doesn't rename associated Sharepoint files Folder
When renaming a Team Channel, the associated Sharepoint folder continues with it's previous name. This could lead to confusion.
4,518 votesThanks for following our suggestion to vote this up on SharePoint. It worked! SharePoint has confirmed that they have already started working on this and I’ll be getting an ETA from them after the holidays. -Suphatra

Teams needs a REAL Calendar!
Would love to have a Calendar to allow those in the same team to view each other's availability and whereabouts. Would make it a lot easier to create appointments/meetings.
The calendar could be a tab in a channel (so then you could have multiple calendars in one team) or could be an icon on the left app bar, instead of "Meetings" which is helpful to no one.
Could also be helpful to add a way for us to add a SharePoint Team calendar.
4,331 votesSorry for the delay on an update on this one! I’m hunting down the status for you and will update once I have it.
Also, if you are interested in participating in testing or surveys for this, just tweet me at @skprufo.
